Dempsey was poor for Spurs. Because of him we only finished 11 pts above the Poool last season, instead of the expected 15+ .
Christian Eriksen now up to equal 8th place in Tottenham Hotspur's All-Time Premier League strike-rates... Tottenham Hotspur Total Premier League Appearances, Goals & Strike Rates 1992-2014
The fact that fifteen different defenders have a better strike rate than Helder Postiga is quite, in retrospect, humiliating.
This season we had to put up with losing bale, watching some of the most boring football imaginable, having our then manager slag us off for not being excited enough at tge dross he was serving up, watching a £27m striker not score unless from a penalty, a 6-0, 5-0, 6-1, 5-1, 4-0, 4-0 series of defeats to the top 3...3 NLD losses without scoring, losing 3-0 at home to ****ing fat sam, being knocked out of a cup at home to ****ing fat same, some of the worst defending in a spurs team I have ever seen...and thats no mean feat... And you think that after our appalling 1st half against relegation candidates on the day the gooners get to the fa cup final is a good time to mention helga postia???? You utter bastard...I have spent a decade trying to erase him and every other player from that squad from my memory...and you have undone all of my hard work with one post
In the gossip column this morning it's saying,Eriksen is hinting he may go in the summer, dispite saying earlier he was staying
If a good/ Silly offer from abroad comes in , Levy has not the resolve to say no . Liverpool have shown that keeping your better players is the only way to challenge.
Quite frankly, if we can get back the £85 million we paid out for them, plus £18 million for Vertonghen, I'd take the money and start again, this time with proper players.
...and even then, non-participation in Europe and early exits from both cups came in remarkably handy. As does reneging on a release clause in Suarez's contract.
They've twisted something that he said about having a long term plan and future dreams. It was a quote from the same interview in Danish where he talked about staying, but they've left that bit out. Utterly dishonest reporting, which is pretty standard. Liverpool didn't get any silly offers from abroad, of course. We'll see how their resolve holds up in the summer. They've probably benefited most by sticking with Rodgers for a few years.
Eriksen is now one of those 'must not go' players. He's become massively important for us in under a season. Whoever is managing us next season has to build the team around him in the central attacking mid position. If he goes then any positives from this season, and I'm scraping the barrel to find them, go with him.
The quotes from Eriksen, didn't it just say something like "he has a plan in his head", or something along those lines? Every player in world football has a plan in his head on where he may see himself in the future, doesn't necessarily means he wants out ASAP. Eriksen is at the perfect club for him at the moment, sure we should probably be offering him CL football but with that aside, he's at the right club for the time being. He's just turned 22 and while he has the potential to be one of the best in the world, he's still got a lot to learn. We're a club that (begrudgingly) gets players to the level they want to be at for a move onto the "world stage" (Carrick, Berba, Luka, Bale), Eriksen is still about a year or two from being in a position where he can command a spot in a Real/ Bayern/ Barca XI.
