One would hardly call the East Midlands mistique lol, just had an inkling after what DCFC did to them and the fact we were due to trounce somebody, i felt this was the game is all.
Now, now Swords. I'm delighted with the win and some reasons for optimism. Some very poor defending at times, but good performances by Benayoun and Carroll. Morrison could be the man to win us the play-offs.
Kranjcar probably had about the same time on the pitch as Jenas and yet you give Kranky a 7 and mark Jenas n/a. IMO Jenas was running the midfield till he went off (shame he's made of glass!!).
Jenas played 13 minutes and Kranky played 14 + injury time. Yes we were ticking along nicely with Jenas in the middle and we lost the momentum when he went off. 15 minutes is normally where the lines is drawn regarding ratings and therefor neither of them should have recieved a mark to be fair. I gave Kranky his mark of 7 for his sheer impact on the game after coming on. Kranky showed desire and a will to win rarely seen from him before.
I'm glad I dragged myself out of hangover lethargy to watch from Hoiletts goal onwards. Enjoyed it for the first time for ages.
I don't know whether to be insulted or relieved that you haven't included me with that illustrious pair as my views are also perhaps a tad negative for you!! Great prediction. Your gut feeling before this game proved to be absolutely spot on. Like everyone on here I'm over the moon at the result. However I'm sure I'm not alone in wondering why we have not played with the level of commitment and passion we showed in the first ten minutes. on the two occasions we went into the lead and in the last ten minutes. I hope the penny has dropped. It's no longer good enough to get your noses in front and then try to contain the opposition. We almost paid the lesson for that today. After Forest had equalised for the second time, the Sky commentators remarked, correctly in my view, that Forest were the likelier team to go on to win the match. What this has hopefully shown is that if the team go out to score they can and will. The best time to score is after you have gone in front. The other team, particularly if they have to get a result, has to throw men forward and there will always be gaps to exploit. The two injury time goals prove that. It really is a very simple game to understand. That is why so many of us have been frustrated by the way we have set up and gone about our business this season. We could have won this league had we played to our strengths and gone for the jugular in each game. Instead we concentrated on keeping it tight and not giving anything away. Let's hope we can keep it up and kick on now. In the games we've lost against all our rivals I've felt that we could have won most of them had we shown more desire and less fear. Better late than never.
I disagree with your final paragraph Yorkie for many, many reasons but I'm just too tired to argue! Lets hope we go to Leicester with a positive attitude and get a result
As i said in my prediction i had a bad feeling about today, however it turned out to be a mild case of Freeheadersatcornersitis and hopefully it will be cured by next Saturday...... The only annoying thing is that had we played like that against Blackpool & Bournemouth we would now be within 2 or 3 points of Burnley with it all to play for.... Still nice to score more than 3 for the first time in 3 seasons......
As delighted as I am by today's result, one swallow doth not a blowjob make. There were 3 goals in the last 6 minutes today, but a shakey back four. I'm going to enjoy today, but more of the same is by no means a foregone conclusion.
True, but it's nice to be able to celebrate scoring 5. I think we miss Clint when defending corners etc.
Crikey I was at that game aswell......we were 3 up at HT and they scored 2 in the first few minutes of 2nd half until normal service returned.....
