Swamp, what are the foundations you're talking about that you seem to feel we're lacking? Am confused.... Something like a young squad yet to realise it's full potential? A talented, young manager? A committed board (that's not insane) looking to build the club organically through an exceptional academy? Those kind of foundations......? Because if so, well, we're good thanks.
We have been laying foundations for years by investing heavily in young talent and excellent Academy facilities....If you think that Lallana, Shaw, Chambers Ward-Prowse is the end of it, then watch this space....Our club has a long term vision and will be a force to be reckoned with for some years yet.
Chambers has had 2 poor performances (compared to his earlier 2014 form), is it time that Clyne gets another run?
I do agree with Tom on this one - I think Chambers is generally excellent, but still personally prefer Clyne, particularly in an attacking sense.
Fans are disappointed because we know that we could have done better in several games with better finishing/luck. However, imagine you had not watched throughout the season, but had been catapulted here from last season. I suspect that without knowing details you would be happy with points total in early April and the league position.
Maybe, I think that fans forget just how young him and Luke are...they are still learning and will have off days, luckily it's not costing us too much at the moment.
Our players were constantly slipping up like in a Keystone Cops movie, why do the keep drenching the pitch, it makes no sense at all, or at least sort the players footwear out.
That's on this thread, and the ratings thread now that I've seen some slight negatives aimed at Chambers' performance today. I can't say that I really saw anything wrong with him. Certainly no more than the rest. Ok it was his poor header for the goal, but that's one mistake. Shaw for the full 90 minutes, and Fonte for the second 45 minutes definitely deserved criticism in my book. But not Chambers.
I totally agree and feel a great future lies ahead, I just think Clyne offers more with his experience.
He implied that he thought he could. You can quote anything at any time as long as you take into account accurately how likely all of the important changeable variables are. E.g. Let's say you'd bet £5 on a golfer at Even money and he got a couple of birdies after that was now 70% likely to win, you could say that your bet was now worth £7 (as you have 7/10 chance of returning £10 and 3/10 chance of returning £0), it's just the same.
Probably less likely to get more serious injuries with a softer pitch. Better to slip than break something!
Chambers wasn't as good as he has been recently. Can't recall seeing him hit so many poor crosses. It was also his very poor header that lead to the goal.
Katharina Liebherr asked for autographs and photos by numerous fans outside St. Mary's. She happily obliged.
Watching Carduff today, with Zaha and Campbell upfront showed how useful real pace can be. They aren't top players, but the pace alone was a useful threat. I'd like a little more real pace on ours. Jayrod has pace but I'd like some more.
Well that went well! I could have watched that dross in Carlisle or Hartlepool. Glad to see home fans with that same hang dog look after a match like I have up North after an away match. Really thought it was a nailed on win, 3-0 or 4-0. Ho hum back to the grim North. And the Dell wasn't there.
