    Sorry you wern't!

Real Madrid beat them 1-0 in Turin in the 1961/62 European cup QF first leg.
And Benifica beat them at home in the 67/68 European cup too.

You were the first English team to beat them at home though.

Good post. From an outsiders point of view (Liverpool fan) you seem to have everything in place. Stadium, money etc etc. for you to go on and be European Champions. I believe you will do it once you get a new manager that changes things up a bit and one that isn't afraid to spend big in the market, and if I'm honest I'd be happy for a club like yours to do it. These oil clubs are annoying as ****.

I'm not knocking Wenger as he's one of the reasons you're in such a position, but everything needs a change eventually, and for me it's time you looked for a new man to take charge.

But I firmly believe you'll win it within the next 5(isn) years - but you MUST finish in the top 4 this season though, otherwise it could be hard getting back in the CL for a while. Dropping out the top 4 can be incredibly hard to break back into it - as I know all to well <laugh>

I guess the question is who's the right man to take over from Wenger, do you take a chance on a young manager, like both Liverpool clubs have (and it looks like both have paid off hugely). Or do you go with an older experienced manager, that could only be with you a few years?

As a Liverpool fan I'm massively glad we now have Rodgers, he's a class act and at 40(isn) could potentially be our manager for the next 20+ years.

I know Everton have him now, but in my opinion Martinez would have been a perfect fit for Arsenal.
