At least we're not Newcastle. How we're only 2 points above them still baffles me.

Feeling pissed off is highly justified, but your constant barrage of hyperbole wears a bit thin, is it really 'disgusting' and 'humiliating'?

The only thing more predictable than us failing to capitalise on our possession in that game was you throwing a wobbly!

I thought it was a little embarrassing to lose to such a side without much structure or nous, but hey, what does it matter.

We're fine anyway, and they were fighting for their lives there at the end. We could've, and should've, done more.

Never mind, I will just forget this game...

Well I certainly think it's humiliating to pick up only 1 point out of 6 against Sunderland and Cardiff at home, scoring only once.

Poor game by Shaw, had loads of opportunities but his crossing was poor. Chambers as well. On the bright side, Gazzaniga looked shaky on the corners in the first half but then played pretty decently in the second half.

It's not the lack of finishing that bothers me as much as the team seems to run out of gas. Some games you get unlucky or you face a good GK like Marshall and scoring just isn't easy. You have to be able to keep at it for the full 90. We faded after about 55-60 minutes which is way too soon.

We have no inalienable right to beat teams like Cardiff. Perhaps on paper we should, of course, but then that game was a microcosm of everything that's still currently wrong with this otherwise very good, very well coached team. It's what we have left to work on. Some games (Newcastle) show us everything that's right. This was just a reminder of the wrong bits.

I think we can afford to forgive the lads for a few bad performances each season, if they are achieving the overall target with several games to spare. This result is not a surprise to me. Anyone who remembers the 90's and all Saints relegation fights will appreciate how freaky results become over the last few games of a season, especially when one side has nothing to play for.

I'm sure when we were beating City, Chelsea and Liverpool last season they were calling it pathetic. Sometimes you have to just take a step back and say well done to the opposition. They came to keep a clean sheet and nick a goal if they could, and they did. We're 8th, we'll be 8th for the rest of the season, I don't think this is the end of the world.

    I Know .

I quoted the wrong post .

I was responding to TOMW19 - "I'm disgusted. To lose at home to Cardiff and not score is humiliating. "

    Apologies to you oddriveroakwizards

No Plan B in tactics or players. If a team sits back and keeps a decent shape then they have a good chance of keeping us out. If we have to play in front of the opposition, and break them down, then we are lost. It all becomes far too slow and easy to defend against. We don't seem to have any purpose to our 'attacks'. It annoys me because we don't seem to learn from it, and do it time and time again.

But, well done Cardiff for coming away with an important 3 points. I'm just disappointed because it's the same old thing holding us back. We've had a good season, but have been so close to having an excellent season. You sense that this could be the most important summer for us in the last 5 years.

Gazzaniga and Cork were the stand out players today. Fact.

Ramirez is a cocky ****. Fonte had a shocker.

You can see why Cardiff are down there and they should never have left this game with anything.

We didn't push, so we got punished.
