    I've done it for £61.50.

If we'd of played Arsenal I'd of made into more day out.

But hopefully with a final coming up and season pass renewals I've had to for this way.

Good on you. It's one thing taking it a little lightly as you expect another trip, but at least you're going, it's another thing altogether choosing to spend your money getting pissed up instead because you can just go to the final.

I genuinely can't believe some city fans aren't doing all they can just to be there, even if it's a long bus trip, no booze, a packed lunch and the cheapest tickets. It's hardly a kings ransom just to be there, even if it means downgrading from Heinz baked beans to asda's smart price beans for a month to be able to afford the final. That little amount of money can easily be scrimped from somewhere in a month unless you're unemployed. And still, even then, there's plenty of ways to bag a little coin.

The way I looked at it is. If I go to pub I'm going to spend £40 with beer, food and taxi's.

If I order BT it's going to cost me £30.

Plus I don't think I could live with myself knowing my team is at Wembley and I'm not.

    Nail firmly on the head.

It's not like we're a big club and this is one in a long list, it's our second ever semi final, and our second ever we blew appearance. It could bell be the last of either for another 84 years. I cannot believe that anyone who thinks of them-self as hull city fan could possibly bare not to be there, even if they really can't go.

On another note, I hope our stand isn't so embarrassingly empty as this tomorrow, it looks like the bloody riverside, more empty seats than people. Sadly I fear it to be the case.

I find it interesting that some seem to be saying people should go because it's at Wembley. I'm going because it's a semi-final of a competition I never dreamed we'd get to despite it being at Wembley.

It's just another reason. At the end of the day, if you're a hull city fan, getting to see your team play at wembley is rarer than a rarity. Past generations never got the chance, I bet the lot of them would have paid £100 for the chance even if it was a pre season friendly against Hyde.

Seeing them in a semi-final's a massive achievement, having it at Wembley devalues the final occasion and I thought hard about going because I disagree with it being there, so I don't see it as "another reason", quite the opposite.

I don't disagree Dutch, but the fact is it IS at wembley, nothing we do will change that, so we have to make the most of the occasion presented to us. We're not a club with a luscious enough history or big enough potential to be turning our noses up at it because its not good enough. That would just be pure foolishness.

When was all this cramming people into Boothferry Park. Since 1950 there has only been half a dozen capacity crowds at BP.

Last year I had my hourly rate AND my hours cut in order to guarantee my job for the next twelve months. My bills have increased by about 10-15%. I have prioritised my family. Count yourself lucky you can spend £60 without worrying about it. Not everyone can.

There are lads who cant afford it genuinely. there are lads who are taking the piss.

There are some who squealed at a possible price rise in season passes by possibly £200 who contrarily bragged about booking hotels, trains etc for a one off occasion at the drop of a hat.

to the lads who genuinely cant afford it I really feel for you. i've been skint before and its not nice.

    How so?

The city was truly on its uppers in 2008.

38,000 were not too skint then.

There will always be one or two people who got laid off, divorced, bereaved, moved house etc 'last month', but no more % wise than six years ago

    What's happened this time?

Best of luck, think you have a better chance against Arsenal than the Blunts.

It's getting like the python sketch the three Yorkshiremen on here.
Right, in the early 80's when the mortgage rate was 15% I was on a three day week, three kids at home, and I went to work on a bike as running a car in those days was unheard of.
I took a Sunday job cleaning milk bottles and labouring at Northern Dairies and I sold stuff at car boot sales.
Scrimping and saving is nothing new and in those days there was no such things as child working tax credits or whatever.
I didn't spend £20 watching football in a pub all year never mind in an afternoon.
But I never missed a City home game and I bummed lifts to the away game that I could afford.
I would have walked to Wembley in those days to see Hull City Boys play there never mind the first team in a FA Cup semi final.
Its been said that you could get away with coach and a match ticket for £60.
People have had over a month to save/earn £60.
You are either a supporter or your not.

You're saying people should be embarrassed that they consider a trip to Wembley too expensive. If you've never had to worry about the cost of attending games then you've been lucky, To suggest others should be embarrassed by the worry is ridiculous.

What excuse do you usually use when you miss games? If you've got the means is it solely down to a lack of commitment?
