Only slightly concern is the lack of a second striker on the bench. If RvW gets injured and we're pushing men forwards at the end, there's nobody to bring on to support Hooper. Although not convinced Elmander or Becchio would help too much with that admittedly. Having two defenders seems unnecessary when Martin and Whittaker can cover the whole back line.
Anyone else wondering if Johnson might almost man-mark Holtby? You'd think he'll be their main threat. We've certainly got pace and power in that side, which Fulham don't. Hopefully that's enough!
I think Howson and Fer will be bit further forward with Johnson sitting in behind. That's how I'd like it played anyway. Rob Butler and RN's lead up is doing no good to my nerves!
No, it was just pointed out that Russell Martin doing the press conference was not evidence that he was unhappy
Fulham have apparently replayed the goals from the 6-0 defeat on big screens in the stadium. Just lost any respect I had for them.
They did it before the F.A Cup replay in January. If anything, it will give our players motivation. I wouldn't worry about it.
I feel like this sums up our feelings right now perfectly...
In the days to call, which we have left behind, Our boyhood’s glorious game, And our youthful vigour has declined With its mirth and its lonesome end; You will think of the time, the happy time, Its memories fond recall When in the bloom of your youthful prime We’ve kept upon the ball Kick off, throw in, have a little scrimmage, Keep it low, a splendid rush, bravo, win or die; On the ball, City, never mind the danger, Steady on, now’s your chance, Hurrah! We’ve scored a goal. Let all tonight then drink with me To the football game we love, And wish it may successful be And in one grand united toast Join player, game and song And fondly pledge your pride and toast Success to the City club. Kick off, throw in, have a little scrimmage, Keep it low, a splendid rush, bravo, win or die; On the ball, City, never mind the danger, Steady on, now’s your chance, Hurrah! We’ve scored a goal.
I hope so his tricky, in all the games I've seen Fulham beat us they always overrun our midfield, Sidwell always seems to be the main instigator in that regard, but if we sit with a bit of depth and force them on the back foot then we can control the game.
