    What about if the Cherries not only got into the playoffs, but won them..? Can you imagine their directors sitting at the boardroom table wondering what the hell they were going to do with their new opportunity and money..?

    There is now a blanket ban on any employee at any of the top 8 tiers or any match official betting on any game round the world. Stops any misunderstandings I guess.

    It does help if the rules are clear cut. The Tranmere manager apparently just had bets within his family...was not involved in a betting ring or anything like it.
