Given that you've gone through more managers than we have in the last five years, are unable to get a new stadium approved and have a player who racially abuses his fellow professionals in your squad, does that mean the team you aspire to be is Chelsea?

Aspiring to be like Spurs suddenly doesn't seem so bad, does it?

The problem Boss, is that I reckon one of the properties we need in a transformational manager is an insight into football tactics which is very different to that of the average player. Ade's attitude to AVB suggests he wouldn't perform under such a manager.

Adebayor was someone I thought was a complete **** before he signed for us, couldn't stand the player and also his personality on interviews, there are some players you just hate.......until they sign for your club! and during the season he had under Redknapp he was superb. I hope he stays, just because of the fact hes a top premier league striker and selling him won't bring in many funds, in a strange way hes a proven premier league striker but would any top club try and sign him? Probably not, what does that tell you? there are issues/baggage (as we witnessed last year) and huge wage demands that go with Adebayor.

...So you have a point as next season we can't be sure which Adebayor will turn up and which Adebayor would show up if we employed a manager like Van Gaal but we know if any player gives Van Gaal any issues then they will be kicked out and no coming back.

Adebayor just needs to be told that he's great and started regularly.
I think that his pissing around with Eriksen in the Sunderland game and post match interview was a positive sign, too.
Keep him happy and he's a big asset. Piss him off and he's a massive liability.

Clearly we can't hire a manager based on how he may, or may not, get on with a certain player. We would hope that a manager with Van Gaal's experience would know how to man manage and treat players on an individual basis. Obviously, there must be a common credo, if any player - Ade included - cannot deal with that, well tough!..

The issue is that, at the start of next season, Ade's contract with Man City will end and his wages will no longer be subsidised so either he'll have to take a pay cut or we'll have to find an extra £95k a week to make up the shortfall.

I wonder if we could give him a contract with more incentives than base salary, and if he would accept it.

It's interesting to note that the protest against AVB's style of play which got him banished may not have been too far off what many of us said about AVB's style. Also that once he found a coach who would play more or less as he thought we should, we've been scoring much more and he's been outstanding.

Him smiling when we were 2-0 down was the most disgusting thing i've ever seen from a Spurs manager.

Thats bollocks....he wasnt smiling at 2 down...

.....he was laughing after we missed a penalty when we 2 down! Think he said there is still time...and he was right...time to go 3 down to a team fighting relegation!
Only spurs could treat a numpty so poorly to make people feel sorry for him! The media act like we are kicking a puppy

Yeah, he pointed at his watch and said, "There's still time!", after Adebayor took that lame penalty, which might've cost us all three points.
I hate it when a player doesn't run up for one, as the likelyhood of them missing or having it saved seems to go through the roof.

As soon as I saw him laughing I commented about him not appearing to care, which I think is fairly accurate.
If it goes well for us in the last few games then he'll increase his reputation a bit, but if it goes badly then he hasn't really lost anything.
He knows that he's not going to be in the job next season, so our final standing isn't really of any consequence to him.
Utterly unprofessional, but I can't say that I'm surprised, as a lot of his behaviour has been, unfortunately.

I'd genuinely like to see him replaced for the last four games, even if it would be by an obvious caretaker.
He's breeding bad habits, hurting the confidence of various players and our disorganisation is appalling to watch.
It would make the club look a bit silly, but so does going 2-0 down to West Brom after less than four minutes.
Hoddle in with Hughton to sort out the defence? It'd be nice to have them on board for Ledley King's testimonial, too.

    This.

AVB was awful and deserved to be fired but it upsets me so much to know Tim Sherwood is our manager albeit for a short term. The guy is an utter idiot, from his silly interviews, mouthing off, self imposed touchline bans and the icing on the cake is that he doesn't have a clue.

Totally agree. Hoddle or, dare I say it, even Pleat. And would be good to get Hughton back as I think LVG said he'd want a Spurs man in the setup if he joined.

While Sherwood is in charge every team is gonna start like their lives depend on it and we'll be trying to ice skate up a hill

  17. Sherwoodie has turned us into a far greater laughingstock than either Santini or Ramos managed, and that's quite a remarkable feat for someone who's only been in the job part-time.

Him throwing the ball at Sagne of arsenal sums him up...it was petulant and classless

He got involved in a row with the benfica manager and made a twat of himself throwing his coat around the touchline like a spoilt brat.

This season ending and his sacking cant come soon enough.

I have never called for a managers head apart from avbs and sherwood so it sits uncomfortably with me but this is plainly stupid.
