Stop all this noise....I had my retirement do last night and had a spritzer. My head is fair banging this morning.
All the best lads hope its a good game.. As thumped as we will get, I just hope its a good game 3-0 Saints, although I pray for the reverse
Reading all the hype on him last night on the OS got me wondering whether the coaches see more in him than the fans. Certainly did not look confident at city and appeared to be making schoolboy errors for goals 2 and 3. But then he made 2 or 3 blinding saves in the second half that even Boruc would have been proud of. The club is good at boosting the confidence of players with timed publicity (good articles on the 'upcoming' Chambers and Turnbull this week too). Truth is, Gazza seems pretty upbeat at the moment so maybe it is just game time he lacks (though really good keepers don't need that do they). I'm not writing him off yet. Like any player in a Saints shirt I really really hope he comes good (soon!)
Yet another good looking, polite well brought up young lad full of confidence. We certainly know how to pick the good ones.
Sims playing for the U18s today, would like to see him given a couple of 30 minute runs in our last few games this season if he's set to be the next breakout player, especially with Rodriguez and possibly Gaston out in AM.
I must say that I'm feeling jolly well pumped. I think we'll lack firepower so I'm going 2-1. I desperately hope the crowd keeps off Gazza's back or I'll probably have one of my "shouting at my own team's fans" fits. Not ended up in fisticuffs yet but one day it may. The last attack of it was at Highbury when a very drunk supporter next to me shouted at Artur for 40 minutes after his teensy little modicum of trouble and got very annoyed when I asked the critic to stop. Problem is, any fight with me is a two hit wonder. Hit me, I hit the floor. Vin
I'm even more relaxed today than usual (over these past five months). In addition to us (once again) not being desperate for points, we've also got ourselves an opponent who is really not to be feared. But more than that, it's a massive weekend for Liverpool and Bournemouth - two clubs who I always want to do well. So in many respects I'm more focused/concerned about their results this weekend, and that in itself also adds to my relaxed mood with regards to our game today.
Saints just posted a video showing the first few arriving at St. Mary's. Gastón first, complete with his flask of mate. Chambers, Schneiderlin, Reed and Gazzaniga also among the first arrivals.
