    Ayr 2.05

    Valdez 5/4

I don't get why the bookies are 5/4 on this chap. For me he needs to turn up in a reasonable state and he'll win.

I've also backed Trustan Times in the Scottish National at 16/1.

Add MTOY @ 11/10 in to that and you have yourself a banging double

2 for me in the Scottish National- to bring my poor poor form to an end.

Roberto Goldback- 22/1- Rated as high as 162 at one point in the 2013-13 campaign, he is now off a 20lb lower mark. But he was back to form when 3rd in the Kim Muir lto at cheltenham and he has been dropped 2lbs since that run too but aslong as his stamina holds up he should do very well and the ground in his favour

Midnight Appeal- 20/1- Choccys choice and with Wayne Hutchison stepping down from his other runner, He is consistent performer whose only bad run this season came over an inadequate trip. Geared up for this race for a while and has an appealing racing weight of just 10st 1lb. Must have decent claims

I prefer Hutchinson to Thornton for the King yard, can't see why Choc is numero uno ahead of him!

Baile Anrai 50/1 will do for me in the Scottish Grand National , each way of course.

Answered 9/4 Navan 3:35 eye-catching debut win at the Curragh and with improvement a given should be on the premises for the Bolger Manning combination.

Also, why is the Ballysax at Navan?...only noticed this eve.

Few outside bets for me tomorrow.

Ayr Champ Hurdle - Cotton Mill @ 20/1 - Clearly inferior to MTOY but based on lengths beaten doesnt have too much to find given the stacks of weight he is receiving. Can see MTOY on the bridle the whole race and then find nothing.

Ayr Scottish Grand National - Mister Marker @ 25/1 - Came 3rd in this last year on a 2lb lower mark on good ground. Prefers softer conditions and can gain compensation tomorrow.

Newbury Greenham Stakes - Berkshire @ 8/1 - Lucky enough to flag up Berkshire on his win at Royal Ascot, had plenty of cover that day and settled well and cruised up on the bridle. Smaller field next time out and ran keen but still battled it out over a mile. Only negative is ground may not be quick enough.

    Each way patent

Really like Faheys runner in that seems to improve with every run and won a decent nursery last term and should take this in her stride

Really looking forward to seeing Kingman today. No betting angle though, as Gosden's MO with the good ones is to be patient. He'll have left plenty to work on, and even the Guineas won't be the be all and end all, so the ante-post punt for May 3rd makes little appeal either.

Court Minstrel should beat MTOY pretty comfortably today, also going for a reverse-forecast in the national - Green Flag & Lieforrit and win singles

Looking forward to seeing the Tent today in action... If the hood and plug works to settle the horse then this horse will surely be unbeatable in next years Champion Hurdle. He tanked along in this years, struggled to settle and yet still almost won the thing! I'll take him to win comfortably today although no bet for me.

In the Scottish National I have backed Yes Tom 16/1 GP and Nuts and Bolts 28/1 GP. Both have good course form and wont mind the bit of rain.

    Good luck all.
