But after reading all media news, like BBC and sports websites and talking to friends. Not one page or sentence is being said about the FA Cup semi final match. Do you guys think FA Cup is becoming less valued? Or is it because Liverpool vs Man City are getting all the head lines and if this game wasnt on, we would all be talking about FA Cup?
I love the F.A. Cup but it being played along side the Prem league takes away from the competition. shame as its the semi finals too and, as theresonly1gerrard says, its getting no respect from the national press. and the semi's should be played at a neutral ground that's not Wembley too...
I agree but when semis come round at least 16 teams will not be in it so games are scheduled I would prefer they all be Saturday and the cup be given Sunday, or vice versa. That would at least give some focus to the games
Also perhaps an element of this could be because LFC City game, which the media is hyping up to be the game to decide who will be the champion.
Shouldn't be held over the same weekend as Prem games. We had a few years back City winning the cup final only for United to win their league game later on that day and win the Prem to completely gloss over it FA Cup should be given it's only weekend (apart from replays) from round 3 to final, with the final being the last game of the season.
Fergie and Wenger started the devaluation of the worlds oldest cup competition because of their persuit of the holy grail of a CL win, Fergie managed to achieve that goal in 99 but Wenger is still trying, Utd even turned their backs on the FA Cup so they could make money in a mickey mouse competition for Fifa, the fa tried their best to give them a bye into the next round but the other clubs put their foot down on that idea. In years gone by the old trophy had pride of place and its own day of matches from the 3rd round onwards, shame its fallen to its present level but to traditionalists it will always be a top cup competition no matter what. #blamefergieandwenger
Strange how things have gone full circle for Wenger gc, it was a comp he dissed for years and this season if he doesn't win it he could be given the sack.
