"Schmeichel Signs"... I still think he'll be a Leicester player next season, can't see why we'd accept a bid without informing him unless we had a replacement secured. And I don't think he's stubborn enough to dig his heels in and refuse a move; Leicester's still a good move for a player like Schmeichel, lots of money, a slice of Sven, even a bit of ambition for promotion.
Once Schmiechel has spoken to Sven he will soon change his tune. The media reckon he is just doing to try and leave Leeds on good terms as the fans think he asked to leave
He is a very good keeper at this level but his 2nd name is always going to put added pressure on him. Sven knows him well and he will have a very good keeper pushing him in Chris Weale
Speaking of other keepers I actually wouldn't mind Stockdale. Was really impressed when he was with us and again when he played for Fulham at the start of last season. No problem with Schmiechel though if he comes, like I said he's better than we had last season.
I prefer a tall goalkeeper someone like Stockdale. Its rare you see a small goalkeeper who is good enough at this level
Me thinks he's not that bothered at coming here. Either that or he's trying to pacify the Leeds fans with the usual...."I never wanted to leave"...stuff. If he doesn't really want to come I say no thanks. Other fish in the sea....
Schmiechel is no fool....he wants to be seen to be leaving reluctantly...nothing wrong with that.....im sure he will get over it once he see's all the noughts on his deal....this is the right signing IMO....even though some bitter leeds fans are saying his form dipped and he's pants.....they are still deluded ,thinking they are the biggest club in GB....this guy is much better than any of the many we used last season....
Hey no probs, its an honest opinion and i think the way we have treated him proves what a prick ken bates is. I just hope its westwood as his replacement. Seems strange that we would accept an offer for such a small fee, surely we have said something to another top keeper. Gradel is quality and couldnt believe what a steal he was at half a mill.
His distribution probably set up at least 9-10 goals for us. He's a clever footballer, as ive said before he has lapses and sometimes can be costly. But at times hes prob won us points, so that prob cancels out his flapping etc. But fair play hes going to another decent club.
How is it bitter to say his form dipped? It did dip. He was great in the first half of the season, but made quite a lot of mistakes second half. What's deluded about giving an opinion on a player who plays for Leeds? He is a good shot stopper, but flaps at crosses and his positioning can be suspect at times.
I'd be happier if he worried more about making a good impression on fans of his new club rather than pacifying the fans of his old one. Bit miffed with him! ps - will be even more miffed if Leeds replace him with Westwood!!
Yes it's a good bit of game playing, no doubt his older wiser dad has advised this - How could he stay when his boss has said he wants him gone
Yes but westwood is a good keeper and if hes the replacement then itl definately take the edge off my issue about the whole situation
