Compared to London, Mumbai is a sea of white faces!

You get some very strange types going down to that beach, the one beyond Pinnacle Point that is. I'm not in Meads but the other side of town, not that keen on France tbh, can't speak the language and it's all too organised and authoritarian, prefer a more flexible if chaotic place with a language I can understand. Spain, Italy, Romania, Portugal etc.

Ever been to Frinton? Its very clean (or was 40 years ago when I last visited). Very strange place, no pubs, feels like the whole population died decades ago and the people you see are benign zombies.

Very true, went there years ago for a day, like that film "Village of the Damned".

Normal for Norfolk as the doctors like to say.

Except its in Essex. Both sets of my grandparents (well one full set and one grandmother) retired to Clacton from London, as was the fashion at the time. You could walk to Frinton along the coast, my Dad dragged me along a couple of times. Both times we arrived and he had a 'doh, no pubs' moment. Just down the road is Jaywick Sands, now the most deprived ward in the country.

Not sure how this post ended up a geography lesson, but while we are at it, Paris is beautiful...especially in spring.

Regarding the OP, just post what you post, sometimes you will be ignored, sometimes responded to, and sometimes shouted down...just depends. No one can expect to have a response to everything they write.

Jaywick is an indictment of the County Council and the Planning Laws that were brought in to kill off the Plotlands Movement that sprung up after WW1. Jaywick itself was denied mains water and sewage until the '80s afaik. Basildon was built over the plotlands.

Very sad what was lost to the power of business and Capitalism, interesting site: http://www.roselake.co.uk/

Anyway, nice wind up AWJM. OP moaning about being ignored then studiously not responding to the 70 posts it generates. Very good.

Right there Dave was there a few weeks back ... loved it and had a brilliant meal on top of the Pompidou ... stayed in great little place (Hotel Saint Merry) 100 yards from it for a few days before moving across the river to a not so good place. Love Paris brilliant place

Haven't been to that restaurant...it is on the list on places we still want to go, trouble is that is a long list. Good to know you had a good meal there, thanks.

To be fair, nearly all of the responses have nothing to do with the OP.

Because of my dyslexia I avoided this thread thinking we were being linked to Gaël Clichy and came to the conclusion that it would not be happening!

Sorry, that was a really c**p attempt at humor right there and I'm heading towards the cloak room now as we speak!

BTW sorry if I have offended anyone with dyslexia but I'm also a fellow sufferer and don't mind taking the piss out of myself!
