http://www.teamtalk.com/hull-city/6997782/Pearson-predicts-tough-season? I'm not sure it's because of the ex-Premier League clubs in the Championship. I think the main reason is because of the wages of some of the players we haven't been playing will restrict the wages we can pay to the rest of the squad. If Nigel Pearson can stay for two more years then he will be able to afford some good players. I doubt whether the big wage earners will be used next season due to being considered a disruptive influence and they'll be more disruptive if they are in the squad but feel they are not wanted.
Agreed, maybe not put in such words, but you've set yourself up for a fall if you came out and said that about this league. I think he truthfully believes that the league will be tough, as do the other 23 chairman in the league i imagine.
funny you should say that, as Ken Bates interviewed in the Yorkshire Post Leeds Edition (cos if it's not Leeds it int worth printing) reportedly scoffed.. "I don't know much but I know one thing, Simon Grayson has assured me we'll not only be winning league by 12 points this season but we'll probably qualify for the Champions league again in under 2 years. We cannot fail, we are Leeds and the world fears us. Money isn't an issue, we haven't got any but that won't stop us. That said I'm looking for success and I'm a hard man to please so if Leeds don't do it I'll be buying Huddersfield next season but for now it's Leeds I love, the mighty whites, European Champions in all but name"
