What do people make of Bruce basically suggesting that if a Top 6 club came sniffing he'd be happy to manage them? I don't mind the sentiment, but the timing of it seems a bit odd. Perhaps he's getting a bit sick of AA?

    Really Syd?

So if Man U binned off Moyes, or if Wenger gets the push, and Bruce is approached, the reason he'd leave is because of AA?

Come on ffs, show some self respect.

Not sure what you mean of how my comments demonstrate I don't respect myself?

I was questioning the timing of the sentiment and speculating. Is speculating not allowed?

I have no doubt that Bruce is fed up of AA's shenanigans and would rather he jacked all this in immediately, but if a top six club came in for him, he'd had left whatever he thought of AA.

I'm more concerned, that as time goes on, it will take less than a top six club for him to leave.

More suggesting the timing of the comments. Could easily have brushed the question off but chose to be quite explicit in his sentiment.

The timing of the sentiment is purely down to the fact that Moyes could be in danger of being moved on, and Wenger must also be clinging on, plus thinking about it, Sherwood, although his replacement seems to be this De Gaal or whatever.

The name change thing is a lot of noise outside of Brucies world. He gets on with Dr Allam, he's allowed free reign more or less to manage the team. From a Managers perspective, I imagine it's a very good job. A step up the ladder to manage one of the PLs favoured teams whilst risky long term wise, is still a goal of a lot of managers. Suggesting he'd leave because of our owner is frankly ludicrous.

    "This De Gaal or whatever"

You've not been about long, have you.

Surely Bruce could wait until the off-season to make such comments though? Bit inappropriate right before a Cup SF.

    What exactly did he say?

And there's no way a top 6 club would ever go for Bruce. The only job 'bigger' than us I can ever see him getting is Newcastle, or more likely Norwich.

My mind goes back to the game we won against Liverpool. Such a massive achievement by Steve Bruce and the players, and in my eyes, Steve Bruce seemed irritated at being asked questions about a name change rather than modestly sucking up the plaudits for the achievement. Who could blame him?

I've not seen the comments that sparked this thread, but for Bruce, now is his ideal time to push himself in the market while his stock is sky high and Man Utd need help. I'd hate for it to happen, but he's earned the opportunity and again, who could blame him?

That he wants a chance challenging for titles and trophies and would jump at the chance to move to a Top 6 club.

    Norwich aren't bigger than us.

Not as long as you obviously. Not sure why he'd leave Holland for Spurs was what the "whatever" was meant to imply. Spurs will need a new manager, who that could be remains to be seen. If Spurs came in for Brucie, I certainly wouldn't start slashing my wrists over it.

Since the war - so the modern era - after a quick count I make it 21 seasons they've had in the top flight. I actually dont think anyone outside of Hull would ever say we're bigger than Norwich. If anything demonstrates that it is this week's pathetic and embarrassing unsold semi final tickets shambles.

Norwich coming in for Bruce was a topic of conversation in the pub on Wednesday night, I wouldn't be surprised if they did come in for him.

He was always employed up until after the world cup after which he was always going to leave the Dutch job. He isnt 'leaving Holland for Spurs'.

I wouldve thought Mackay would be top choice, then Lennon, then Bruce. The other 2 might be unlikely so we should be worried. I defo think he'd seriously consider it.

Actually - that raises a valid thought. IF he did go, who would be in line to replace him? I cant think of a single obvious candidate. I suppose if Derby dont go up then McLaren's name would do the usual rounds.

I'd suggest a show of love for Bruce wouldnt go amis this weekend. he has been overshadowed by the antics of the megalomaniac so might be feeling needy.

I know what Bruce really would have liked to have said:

"I'll go to any club that is not planning a name change, where the owner is of sound mind and where I'll be asked on a weekly
basis about events on the pitch and not off it"

^this is the worrying part....there's a lot of average dross out there. We could get MON & Roy in...Irish connections and all that...he'd be guaranteed to do a better job here than he did at the shower up the coast...which would be very funny

MON just about bearable, but only just. Roy Keane I want nowhere near a football club I support.
