    Then he will be held entirely to blame for our usual failure because he isn't fit and doesn't score ten goals in the group stages.

    Here we are with our traditional injured United player in desperate race to get fit to save the nation/be held accountable for dismal failure.

    What Rooney clearly needs is the Magical Micheal Owen Couch (TM).

    It mysteriously has the player injured for the domestic season and then for the internationals makes him fit and raring to go. The only problem being is that it costs £125,000 a week to run.
