Both comments are good, my feeling is that utd have "scope for change" If we looked for example at thier squad; there are several players who neither fit moyes philosophy nor a modern manager who might come in, further the aged and want outs are on high wages. Therefore; 1. How much money do utd make in profit and how much does Felliani and mata eat into this and the maximum losses allowed. In ffp? 2. How much in wages would getting shut of vidic, Ferdinand, evra and giggs to name just 4 bring to the table 3. If the glaziers stopped taking money out of utd or refinanced on lower interest how much could they generate 4. If utd for example sold young, Hernandez, Rafael, Valencia and others how much cash would be generated I think we must assume that where there is a will there is a way and frankly they will rebuild. I can certainly see 5-7 players in and the same out Utd will likely be built around de gea, Evans, jones, carrick (mad to do that), janusaj, mata, rooney.... After that it's hard to say, some squad players word stay, some first teamers like smalling and welbeck just ain't up to it But who do they buy? It's hard to know from the outside looking in and frankly if I was city if utd go for anyone actually decent I'd step in. Kroos for example
MITO, on your 3rd point these matters are not in United's hands. The Glazer family will make financial decisions that are in their best interests even if they run contrary to those of the club. The United executives have no power whatsoever.
I think milk is right, utd are not that far off 4th right now..... If they performed better just v other top teams (like we failed last year) then they'd be in the mix!!! The fact is they've won the easy ones and flopped at any reasonable challenge. Give moyes more time and a forward fit all year (RvP or Rooney)..... Yeah they are miles off as a result but next year.... We'll is a whole new ball game ..... But..... Long term and titles needs more, every lfc fan shod be seeing that WE are a long way off being a challenger when this season is over, I wish it could go on forever, we need a step change in terms of playing staff to support multiple challenges while delivering a title push again..... With respect our midfield lacks quality, we've two strikers not four and we lack full backs. Yet we can say we'll be up there but utd who need as much won't... Cos utd have the cash while we have less revenue to deliver it
It would probably be in the Glazer family's best interest to siphon off a little less cash this year so that the cash cow produces adequate milk in the future. Taking out a little less money now- so that they can continue to fleece the club in the future is in their best interest.
I do agree and that's why I make it a question, will the glaziers accept sweating the asset down or will they allow the club finance getting back to the top to potential milk them all the more Many of us may have assumed the glaziers would have sold by now. So why didn't they? The stock floatations and such indicate to me that just perhaps they want a Facebook level return from a business that can never justify someone spending that.... I have no idea what they will do, what why I said where there is a will there is a way
So show me any occasion where the Glazer's have forgone their money to assist the club? If they have not done it before then why do you even think that they may do so?
Who's to say one way or the other? They've never had to. They've overseen a long era of success after all and it's been easy, just cos they got away with murder in the "buying" of utd
Maybe they will, maybe they won't. If they're smart they will. It would be in their best interest to.
If I was in their shoes I would look to sell now. The market value of the business is estimated at a staggering amount compared to what they 'bought' it for and they are now entering a period of massive risk. So if I was their advisor I'd be advocating cashing their chips in, as the value of the asset may decrease rapidly if the wrong player investments and footballing decisions are made in the next 12 months.
We'll be fine so stop worrying your silly little heads. Everything will be back to normal next season
Like it was when you overtook us in November/Christmas/February, whenever? Btw- your sig. It's Farewell.
No respectable set of businessmen would sell a business after 1 bad year, especially one with so much potential.
Oh yes they would when their analysis showed that the business required high levels of cash investment, that the operational and corporate management of the business was weak and that present levels of returns could not be guaranteed. Too true they'd seriously consider cashing in their chips!
