No they just have to apply again next year if they mean appealing to the FA They can appeal to CAS though I think , but they have no grounds to get the decision overturned if the FA followed their own procedures
Posted by HULL CITY AFC (Ricardo) on that other thread : The FA Committee that reviewed all the evidence put forward by both sides unanimously recommended the proposal be rejected. It would be interesting to know why 36.5% of FA Council members who weren't present when all the evidence was put forward felt that they were in a better position to assess the merits of the case than the Committee. If the Committee had been split and people could say that their position is usually more similar to one of the members who said Yes then fair enough, but nobody that was presented with all the evidence said Yes. Greg Clarke was expected because he's previously spoken out in support of allowing it because he didn't want a precedent being set with us that would prevent a L1/2 club from making a change in similar circumstances because that could jeopardise the future existence of clubs at that level (on the assumption that there were actually sponsors behind our move). And the two club representatives are presumably thinking if we're not competing with them at the moment, if we let them do it and it works we'll copy them, if it doesn't work then they've f**ked themselves so there's no loss for us either way. The Lancashire FA is an odd one though. If you look at it even further, 1/3 near enough ignored the Committee to vote Yes. Presumably though there were people on the No side who were also going to vote No regardless of what the Committee said. In the case of ERYCFA we know it's down to a poll of members determining their vote. Chances are though that the Committee recommendation actually influenced less than half the votes, which does raise questions about whether that's enough to justify things being as they are. (Should they scrap Committees if unanimous decisions are going to be ignored by so many, or should they change who is on the Council so that informed recommendations are followed by more of the Council)
Anyone who wants Allam to challenge the FA decision simply cannot have the best interests of the club at heart. Even if they, in principle, support the idea of the name change, they must realise challenging the FA could spell disaster for the club. I can only conclude that people who want this farce to continue must support Assem Allam over supporting the club.
Which, in all fairness, is a ridiculous notion in itself! It makes me wonder how many people would back Abromovich/Sheiks at Citeh rather than the clubs themselves.
Would that have been your stance if 14% more people at the FA had voted the other way and CTWD announced a decision to challenge it?
No, I’d have been part of the opposition to it. But, the opposition would be coming from a fans’ group; not from the club itself. True, you could say this may have been divisive – it probably would have been, but divisive amongst the fans only. But, this challenge is coming from the club itself. For the club to officially rebel against the FA decision will potentially have horrendous and multiple impact to the severe detriment of the club. We will be sanctioned, ostracised, uninvestable etc Plus, it will still further divide the fans. So, do you support the Allam family to fight this decision given that it will harm the club itself?
I simply cannot fathom it. Even knowing the fact that the vast majority of the public are ****ing gullible and stupid, I cannot believe that someone would support a person/family over their club.
We won't have challenged it unless we had good grounds. I think that is the difference. The only legal grounds I could see would have been the use of the ballot as a significant factor in the decision.
I think it's quite possible that many who didn't vote would have voted against, but probably thought it was a forgone conclusion that it would be rejected, probably the same with the season ticket holders ballot. So a revote in either case could just make it worse for the owner's case.
Just a thought if the name change goes through would this null and void the current contract with the club for the stadium ? Would Hull Tigers need to find a new home?
I don't think so. The contract is between the Council and the Stadium Management Company. The SMC has the contract with Hull City. I suspect the contracts are in the names of the limited companies anyway.
You are genuinely the last person I expected to be afraid of the FA and willing to just bend over and take whatever they dish out. You'd be happy for further dividing of the fans with a CTWD appeal but you think the club shouldn't appeal because you're afraid of the FA. Thats really quite saddening.
Naturally, as you well know, I support the FA's decision in this matter. Also, as I said, I’d have opposed the FA if it had favoured the name change (on whatever grounds). Further, as I said, the division of the fans issue will be small compared to the potential damage to the club by opposing the FA. So, do you support the Allam family in challenging the FA given what damage it will cause our club from FA sanctions and beyond?
its going beyond the FA .. going to court for arbitration of sport .. the FA wash their hands of it and have to accept any decision ... way to go
You’re probably the most unreliable poster on this forum, every ****ing post of yours is a lie or erroneous. So, you writing that, has actually reassured me. How’s your relative doing post the Anfield hospitalisation by the way?
To play in Europe Hull City must have a UEFA licence. If action is taken in the English courts do you think UEFA have the right to refuse the licence. No licence, no European football. Do you think that is a risk worth taking to continue Assem Allam's quest to become Hull Tigers?
This is just one of the risks. A very real risk. Of course, supporting Assem Allam seems to be more important to some people.
