I reckon 9 points and you're safe, if Norwich lose on Saturday you may only need 7! Draw with Everton and you are possibly left having to win 2 out of the 3 final home games (Cardiff, West Brom and Swansea). I'd make you favourites against Cardiff and it could be the case that West Brom and Swansea have nothing left to play for by that point - which makes the job a lot easier. If you beat Everton then it suddenly looks very possible. Yes you are probably going down but I'd still give you a 20-30% chance of staying up personally. May check the bookmakers odds now actually...
OF course you've been to the sol more then me. I live in Australia you dumb ****. Your plastic cause your negative, every minute of the day you want a new manager, every minute of the day you write off all safc fans & chastise them. 20 k fans? So you've personally talked to each & everyone of em ey?
Noticed you didn't mention Fulham. Sunderland and Norwich could go down together as Fulham have winnable games
How would you know? From the 88/89 season up till 03-04 season I missed one home games, I've had season tickets since as well as part season tickets and averaged 8 to 10 games a season when I couldn't afford a season ticket. I'm a proper fan who goes whenever I can afford to. I'm not a plastic **** like you how can afford to go next season but won't because we're getting relegated, you're on about booing our manager, Christ you've even threatened violent attacks within the stadium boundaries in the past. You're the absolute pinnacle of bad fan, a ****ing embarrassment. You're our very own version of the please log in to view this image
Back to the OP, will they turn if we go one down? I suspect they will turn regardless as a lot do every game. This has happened to numberous managers over the past seasons. The fans have very high expectations and are ready to slate most players as soon as they do something wrong - strangely there are some who seem exempt. Elsewhere on this thread Vergini and Bridcutt have taken criticism but imo the players who let us down most on Monday were Brown - his passing out of defence was woeful even before he took the blow to the head - and Ki who wandered around like a disinterested observer which meant Bridcutt and Catts had to do much of his work as well as their own. Virgini and Bridcutt may not be the best but they do seem to be heading for the Scapegoat category already. I don't know why some are so ready to complain, but I suspect it's because there is an expectation of perfection because the players are on crazy money and frustration at that surfaces very quickly. I've consistently heard people around me praise players to the hilt UNTIL they mis-place a pass, don't take a shot, do take a shot and miss at which point all manner of abuse is hurled in their direction. Fickle - this is the very definition! Where's your evidence for that? He hasn't said he's give up he's just stated the bleedin obvious - we are in trouble and need a miracle. He's inherited a squad that cannot play any formation - along with Gus previous managers have tried all kinds of line-ups and formations and none of it has worked. The long and the short of it is the players collectively and individually are not good enough. We need some stability and we need a period of re-building. As Sunderland fans this should come as no surprise.
I'm negative you say? I'm just not clueless like you lot on here. I never wanted PDC sack so that kills I want a new manager all the time rubbish. go & have a look at out attendances in the championship at the start of the season. I think it started around 25,000. I think we will be lucky to get that.
We may only need 7,8 or 9 points to stay up tho. thats not a miracle in my eyes sorry. poyet is getting desperate & thats why his changing the team, the bench, the tactics. he may change the tea lady next.
because I know, this is my 10 season as a season ticket holder & I was going long before that to. you not in the same league sorry. Plus don't get me started on away games.
Learn to count mate, I had 16 consecutive season tickets. I've had an extra two on top of that. With next season I'll be on my 19th season ticket. Almost double your little tally I don't abandon my team, doesn't matter what league we're in, my support is unconditional. I'm 20 times the fan you are. You're just simple thug. I've never threatened to bring violence into the SOL/Roker either. You're a loser.
Doesn't really matter if you don't believe me. I'm safe in the knowledge you've not been to a fraction of the games I have. The season when Tim Carter covered Tony Norman though his injury, I was there. When Benno dragged David Speedie into the Clockstand, I was there. When a useless Lee Howey managed to score a header everytime he came on as a sub, I was there. When Kieran Brady broke the first team and had the world at his feet, I was there. When Mickey Bridges made his name as a super sub, I was there. I was even at Grimsby when Phil Gray drove a 40 yard shot into the bottom corner, I was there. When Cantona Chipped Lional Perez at Old trafford I was there. When Tony Yeboah slammed a 35 yard strike of the Roker End cross bar i was there, memories of my childhood with my season tickets, watched with my father in the Fullwell End, I'm Sunderland besotted. The last 10 year's I know for a FACT I been to more home & away games than you. you may have been to more games than me overall but you are older than me. I still don't believe you tho.
