1 years CL revenue wouldn't transform us on it's own, but when you consider that our net transfer spend in the last 12 years has been £0 - then I reckon we could make good use of it....

What it could give us - and you touched on it there - is a massive rise in our profile, and everything that brings with it i.e. improved sponsorship deals - in both number and value. Increase in our fanbase, and most importantly the potential to attract a new owner.

As we need one with acumen and money, who's prepared to speculate to accumulate. As Kenwright hasn't invest a 1p into the club.

You'll need to spend it all, just to get the two good loan players you had.

think they have a better manager now to make use of that money.

martinez may have connections to the spanish league as well as others, he seems more charismatic than moyes was any way, you would feel as a player you would be playing good football under martinez and he would appreciate you, did players feel that way about moyes, well the type they would want to attract with the style martinez plays. ie not hoofball.

not that i know of, unless the money is being used to help fund wages somehow? or kenwrite was a bit wary of giving too much money to martinez to spend before he proved himself.

Got to be wages. If they are paying for all of Lukaku and Barry wages that could be hefty. Mirallas probably got a pay rise( or at least should have).

You'd think part of the money was going to cover the % of wages they are paying for Barry and Lukaku.

Aren't they also meant to be saving for a new stadium. Granted they'll get bank loans for it it, but they less they have to loan the less debt they'll have. So money from transfers could be put towards that.
Don't know really, Everton have had a very balance approach in the past. Buy low, sell high and keep the club running.

    I think that's spot on.

Barca only lent us Deulofeu because of Martinez and he's enhanced his reputation further still this season, so I can imagine there'll be plenty of players out there who'd relish the chance to play under him.

He's supposedly got £25m+ to spend this summer, irrespective of the league finish, as he's only spent about half of the £40m he's brought in from sales and the incremental £25m TV revenue also lands this summer, so a CL finish would see him with a sizeable war chest imo.

  12. Didn't both come with large loan fees? £5m for Lukaku wasn't it?

Nope, we got rid of our biggest earner in Fellaini - £75k pw, followed by Moyes on £65k, Heitinga was on £60k, Jelavic was on £35k and Victor £30k.

Under new PL rules this season you can't increase you wage bill by more than £4m per annum, if it was over £54m at the start of the season, so the maximum it could possibly have increased by was £4m (and it didn't)

Honestly don't know the first thing about the structure of wages there at Everton but do you know what percentage you are paying? With Barry and Lukaku at City and Chelsea, you know they are on at least or close to that 70k mark I would think? If you pay half that is OK, but do you pay the whole shibang?

    I think not..........

You're the epitome of the exact point I was making.

  17. With them having paid a £5m loan fee for Lukaku, I'd imagine they're paying 100% of his wages too. Pure guess mind

I think we're paying half of Barry's £120k per week and all of Lukaku's £45k per week. We also paid a £3m loan fee for Lukaku.
