They find themselves 6 points away from safety with only 5 games to go and the second worst goal difference in the PL. They have to go for a win which should hopefully make for an open game. Injury wise we are without Jrod and possibly Boruc. For Cardiff their influential winger Noone is definitely out. Possible line up Boruc/Gazza Chambers Fonte Lovren Shaw Morgan Cork Gaston Rickie Adam Gallagher Subs Cropper Clyne Jos Vic JWP Reed Guly I'm going for another comfortable home win. 4-0 COYR!
It'll be interesting how Cardiff play this. They have three winnable fixtures after this one, and there's a strong chance that ten points will be sufficient to keep them up - so it's not necessarily a must win for them just yet. But so much does rely on that Fulham-Norwich game. If Norwich win, then it suddenly does make this game a must win for Cardiff, in all honesty. If Cardiff try and come out and play (and being forced to go for the win would have to bring them out to at least to a small degree), then I can only see a comfortable win for us. We'd pick them off at will.
I see Cardiffs Craig Noone has picked up an abdominal injury that will likely mean the end of the Season for him, just hope it can be sorted and that isn't as serious as the press are making out. I think we tried to buy him some time ago. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/11140240.Cardiff_lose_Noone_for_rest_of_season/?ref=mac
I`m in London this weekend for the marathon, so I`m nipping down to Soton with AberdeenSaint Jnr for the game. Sunday also coincides with Mrs AberdeenSaints 50th birthday, so she`s not best chuffed about our disappearance. I can`t remember the last game I went to completely devoid of alcohol, so I`m in for a surreal experience.
gutless display from our lot last match in a crucial must win game, you'd expect a team like us to be fighting for our lives and throwing the kitchen sink but its not happening, when you have passengers like zaha and jones its even harder. only positive i can think of is you dont need the points.....
Not saying that you can't get anything from this game, but it certainly won't be because we are cruising. Our team are playing at the same tempo as they started the league.
We are in a lot of trouble, you lot are not. You play football, we are all over the place with no idea what to do. But I'm a fan, and like most fans I hope we can turn it around and start playing, hopefully grab a point. In all truth, the 4-0 scoreline suggested above wouldn't be a surprise, we have little to offer at this time.
What? Hold the back page! Kenwynne Jones isn't trying very hard? Not giving his upmost for each and every minute he is on the pitch? I don't believe it.
I feel for any team threatened with relegation....been there, done it and have the tear-stained t-shirt. Sadly, has to happen to 3 teams. Good luck, but not on Saturday.
Lesson for Shaw: Zaha is a classic example of why a talented young player is often best served by NOT jumping at a glory move to a glamour club regardless of the money on offer. How much better he would now be playing every week for Palace.
Have to say in Luke's defence that I think he is more of a team player than Zaha and would always try his best.
