Over the months i have seen plenty of arguing in Clary (pub) before games for simply wearing a not to hull tigers badge. Outside the chippy next to the same pub mates have had heated debates over the Allams name change . Inside the stadium E7 a couple of times fans have been asked to sit down during 19.04 . On the concourse near the toilets at half time two fans coming to blows over the name change. And of course this and other city message boards slagging each other off and even tho a line has been drawn under the name change it still going on and to be honest i think the damage that's been done cant be repaired . We all know this all started because the Allams got knocked back by the council over the sale of the kc and yet its the fans of our great club that feel the brunt of his anger. Still not forgive him for rejecting a civic reception and open top bus around the city on our first ever auto prom to the top table of english football .
Reading about things like this really boils the spunk. One man has created this divide. One man can heal that rift, but instead is happy for this civil war to continue. Reasonable, educated folk have continuously had their base intelligence roundly insulted by the misguided beliefs of one man's ridiculous pursuit of a vendetta against the local authorities. The fact these folk continue to be blinded by his every action reflects badly upon them. All so unnecessary. All so sad.
It's completely blighted a great season but this man seems to revel in it. Hardly a mention of the goings on on the field and they seem uninterested in the achievement of reaching Wembley. Galvanising the fans , finishing as high up the Prem league as possible and winning the Cup would bring in more cash. £10/11 million extra which is about the same as 4 years extra money for his supposed extra from name change.
I agree with a lot of what he said about a chasm openning up between the fans. Winning the FA cup will do a lot to heal wounds and bring the fans together.
For someone of his age you'd think he'd want a bit more harmony at stage in life. God knows what he was like 20/30 years ago must have been a nightmare to cross him
Sadly it's basic nature for people like Assem Allam. They're not used to people standing upto them and telling them they can't do as they please.
It's mentally damaged Happy Tiger. It's brought on severe psychosis in him. Maybe we could take Allam to court?
From a normal stand point I'm surprised but the fact it's Mr Allam and his rantings doesn't surprise me.
When he first walked into the club, he had the potential for greatness in the eyes and minds of the Hull City faithful. Now he has himself divided the nation and with a matter of days until the one of the biggest days in our history, and the headlines in not only the local media but also the national as well, are all about some stupid change of name. He has no qualms on alienating anyone. He goes from one group to another regardless of size, attempting to vilify each one who dares stand up against him. Whether or not you agree with what CTWD stand for, they stood in his way and became the next in his firing line. Those who appear to stand beside him will one day end up feeling the very same 'wrath'. He doesn't care about Hull City AFC or whatever he wants to call it, he doesn't care about the city of Hull... A gift to the people of Hull for what they have done for him since he arrived in 1968 or when ever it was! Don't make me laugh. If this is a gift of thanks, don't bother... The Tiger nation should be celebrating this week, excitement should be leaking out of our pores, we should be laughing TOGETHER as the rest of the footballing world looks on in envy. As i said earlier Mr Allam, you had the potential for greatness, in reality, you will be remembered as a man who was far from that ideal. Regardless of how much debt you have saddled us with, YOU have turned Tiger against Tiger, and that to me is unforgivable. You should be ashamed of yourself, but i am sure shame is not something you have ever felt. Hopefully one day karma will repay your "gift to the people of Hull".
I do sometimes wonder whether it's a case of all publicity is GOOD publicity in Allams eyes. Then one he'll back down and look an hero.
Agree absolutely, I never would have thought that fans of one club would be divided. Some moron who sits near me deserves a slap because of his childish attempt to put "tiger" into every song that is "city". The excitement leading up to games has gone, the match day experience is nowhere near what it should be. The Allams don't and never will understand what it means to support a football club, to them everything is money and business.
SB is supportive of AA.. I understand that he is an employee, supporting his boss - but if he was against the idea, he should have said "I dont want to comment" http://www.theguardian.com/global/2014/apr/09/hull-city-steve-bruce-tigers-fa apparently Curtis Davies is for the idea too.
Great damage has been done, our support is fractured in our greatest season. City legends die and we finally get a cup run to the semi's yet incredibly this dark cloud still hangs over us and dominates what should be a golden age. Very sad. What an old fool, what a mess.
But they're quite clearly **** at the business side of running a football club, and unwilling to delegate to anyone with the skills they lack.
