They keep bringing this up, but it's nonsense, the rules weren't changed, they're exactly the same as they were before there was any mention of a name change.
The club and its supporters really don't need this carrying on. Mr Allam, please understand that you aren't going to get your way on this. Stop having a sulk, swallow your pride and let everyone enjoy following the club. I think your 'silent majority' will be much happier with you jacking in the whole idea rather than letting it drag on and embarrassing the club further.
Originallambrettaman quote from yesterday: "He can't appeal, if he wants to try again, his only option is to reapply for the 2015/16 season. By which time, hopefully, the FA will have their new rules on club names, colours and badges nicely in place." So is there or has there been a rule change or not?
I have clearly stated there has been no change in the rules. And that I hope in the future the rules will be further tightened, to make it more difficult for owners to change club names, colours and badges(as there is currently no protection for colours and badges). What's not clear about what I said?
There was a rule change which introduced the application to be made to the FA for permission to change the playing name. However that rule existed prior to Steve Bruce coming to the club. It was the rule that was in existence when Assem Allam announced the name change the day before Andy Dawson's testimonial. The rule wasn't introduced for the sole intention of Assem Allam despite what he thinks. We want the rules strengthening to make what's happened to us more difficult. Its fairly straightforward. One rule change was in the past and exists in the present. The other is our aspiration and hopefully will be passed in the future. I hope that's clear.
This vote that the FA held, was the outcome that 63% voted and the outcome was no, or the vote was 63% voted No and the others yes. I was convinced after reading the reports that only 63% of the FA panel voted and unanimously voted no.
Most galling, from a wider footballing perspective, was that the head of the Football League confirmed that he sees football clubs as bank accounts and piles of papers.
That was my understanding as well, the 63% who voted all voted no, but of course Allam will say the 37% were a silent minority in favour
"There was a lot more support than expected on the FA council, especially from the professional game, for the Hull City name change. Indeed, it was only rejected by a 47-27 majority." So the allams only need to persuade 11 of that 47 to get the name change by whatever appeal they think they've got?? It's going to happen.
Why don't they put as much effort into getting along with Hull City Council so the KC Stadium can be extended and the surrounding areas developed to bring in the extra revenue that AA thinks throwing away our heritage and history and making us a laughing stock will bring in ?
