Or will Assem Allam maintainn his spiteful myopia and refuse to allow it? If we come back from the FA Cup Final with the Cup, what will be his choice of celebration?
I'm not anti-Allam Stan, but anti Hull Tigers. I hope that all the professional and notable amateur clubs in our city play a part. However, I fear Mr. Allam will allow his pride to rule his head rather than act with good natured 'olive branch' pragmatism, and not least to celebrate the fact that this city became his home. Sad really...
Hence my use of the words "spiteful myopia", Lincoln. He should have given up his case yesterday, but he hasn't, unfortunately.
I don't know what his would be but mine would be a three way tie between Bounty, Snickers and Galaxy Caramel. Spiteful myopia sounds quite painful Dr Stan.
Agreed, I'm just trying to a positive spin on it Stan! I do dread what is around the corner to be honest, and I'm not normally a pessimist. However, you can indeed see this still rumbling on as we hit the 2017 celebrations!
the City of Culture doesn't kick in till 2017. A lot can happen between now and then. AA may have walked by then and without his input we could be in division 1, point is, isn't it a bit early for this thread?
Do you believe nothing happens until 2017? Advance planning will be taking place already (will have begun some time ago, in fact). Do you think AA wil accept any invitation for City to take part?
If we win the FA Cup, there will be an open top bus tour of the East Riding, avoiding Hull and finishing in Beverley market place.
Then there should be an unofficial 'Black and Amber' gathering in Vicky Square. Let the fans celebrate in the name of the City (and f*** AA)
nono I was just stating that I personally think that it is a bit early to say what happens. Obviously plans will have been made. we dont know whether AA will walk or put the club up for sale, or what.
I wonder if AA will let his son take charge so he can try to repair the relationship between the fans and the club.
We all know if it was tomorrow we wouldn't be a part of the celebrations, while the 2 rugby clubs continue to show their marketing team are much better than a Premier League football team's, by seeing it as an opportunity for free exposure and a chance to connect with their customers and potential new customers.
Forgetting about the Allams for a minute - how good would a pre season game against fairly big dutch team be if we could co-ordinate with p&o to get a load of the supporters over here.
Seeing as the club gave the council 100 free tickets for this weekend, wouldn't you think the bridge building has already begun?
Iirc, that was tried and the local coppers put a dampener on it over the policing of the game and who pays
That would be great, pre-season against Feyenoord from our twin city of Rotterdam. Dependent on Arsenal and our semi on Sunday getting a Europa Cup place is within our grasp. What a marvellous advert for City Of Culture a 2014-2015 European tour would be, and all the incoming Europeans boosting our economy. We are a massive advert for City Of Culture alrerady, get building those hotels.
I genuinely hope so Patty, to me at least it would be a way forward. I suspect the relationship with the council and others might improve also. As Tickler would say TWT!
