I think Curtis needs to be sent a few facts about our history. I love him as a player but he should have stayed out of this.

Curtis said everything right. He backed his chairman and the fans. It was all he could do. Sit on the fence.

Not sure what he could do, if he sides with either side he is at a loss in some way.

Lets put this one back in the box now - CD couldn't say anything else when pressed .
Don't think we should be pointing fingers at the players on this issue .

I don't think this is sitting on the fence:
"‘I’m a Man Uinited fan and If the Glazers had gone it at Old Trafford and changed them to the Manchester Yankees or the Manchester Red Sox or something like that, there would be uproar. But I understand why people do things for the global market. There is already a Man City. Hull City doesn’t stand out as much as Hull Tigers if you’re watching games in China and the Far East. It will make us stand out more in those places and gives us more sponsorship potential.
‘Success on the pitch is the best way to do that. Man City have the best players in the world, they’re City, we can’t match them for success. Hull Tigers is the best way to put our name out there.’

He offered am argument for both sides then. Isn't that sitting on the fence? He has done nothing wrong.

It's a quote from Curtis Davies.

Players and indeed the manager can't criticise the owners stance, it's as simple as that. If the Allams came out tomorrow and said they've got it all wrong, history and our name matters so we're sticking with Hull City 100% then Bruce and any player asked would back them.

Once they leave they'll say something different.

Don't involve the players and manager for **** sake....Leave it to the fans to argue the toss.

They've chosen to get involved. Bruce was much cannier on the issue in the past. And Davies could easily have avoided taking sides without going against the party line. His comments about the two Manchester clubs are right out of the Allams book of bull and to me -- as a proud Hull City fan -- are insulting.

Are you always that easily insulted? What do you propose we do, drop him for Wembley? He said he could see both sides and sat on the fence. I don't see what the problem is.

Davies is a Man Utd fan?

So there is something bad about him. Didn't think it was possible atm.

After the season that Curtis Davies has had/is having for us I find it completely unbelievable that any City supporter would make an attempt to have a pop at him! Get a life ffs, everybody is entitled to an opinion, he's given his, live with it.

Having a pop at your own players, especially pivotal ones like Davies, is the beginning of a very rocky road, best not go there, I sincerely hope that you are in a VERY small minority!!

Yep, but they should be doing everything they can to stay out of it instead. At any other club that's what happens. Questions are frequently vetted and inappropriate ones not answered. Davies should have declined to comment politely by saying something like "It's an issue for the owners, we're all just focussed on Sunday." etc.

Unless of course they're not allowed to stay out of it. We know Bruce was all set to 'have a chat with the owner, and see what he could do' one minute and then was a big Hull Tigers advocate the next. Allam's a devious **** and he's not above telling people what to say in the media. It's all about getting one over the fans for him.

What I also find very disturbing -- if true -- is that employees of the club allegedly had a vote or votes in the so-called ballot. If that's the case it wasn't a ballot of the 'passholders' as such and the wafer thin 'victory' margin would probably disappear if their votes were discounted.

The club announced there'd be no comment from them as we were focusing on the game. Within 5 hours the owner had confirmed to BBC Sport he intends to appeal, and the manager and team captain had both made comments that are almost word for word what the owners have previously said. If people are going to go making comments, don't issue a ****ing statement saying here won't be one.

I appreciate journalists are going to ask questions, but would anybody on either side object to Bruce or the players saying this had nothing to do with them, and if the journalists didn't ask questions about the game instead they'd leave because they had better things to be getting on with than talking about the name?
