As expected by some of us when they had so many matches postponed in the winter, Crawley are finding life difficult as they have now lost SIX matches on the bounce!
Fatigue due to two games a week since then?

Just hope having rugby players stomping all over our pitch doesn't turn into a worst case scenario

Hopefully not, when we get this new super grass pitch. Supposed to be 18 x tougher wearing.

I don't think that the egg-chasers will do much damage. Their game doesn't chew up the 6-yard box anywhere near like football does. It's more spread out

I wouldn't be to sure, against the try line is where the defence throws everything into it to prevent the opposing team going over.

If they lay the desso pitch we might be ok like Leicester and Swansea.

Leicester City and Leicester Tigers have separate stadiums so why would LCFC have a Desso pitch?

Have Reading got one?- I was there last month, and the pitch and the stadium looks great- Puts ours to shame.

The thread was not intended to be a veiled reference to next season's ground share with Bristol Rugby, but a comment that for Crawley to play two matches per week for over two months of the season is proving to be very testing.

Some of were a bit sceptical about Cotterill's comments about fatigue when we had eight matches in about 24 days. Maybe now we realise how true his comments were!

As for the use of our pitch for two different sports. Reading, Swansea and many others have not had postponements due to waterlogging even during this very wet winter like Crawley had.

Those who spread gloom and doom about the state of the Ashton Gate pitch next season should remember that we have a superb ground staff who have provided us with a playing surface that compares very favourably with any in the Premier leagues of Europe.
