Someone's jealous that we have the best young left back in the country.

He's a right back playing as a left back.

Playing very well as a left back. As I recall he's spent his entire career alternating positions, and is equally proficient in both fullback positions and both wings as well. Somewhat like Darijo Srna.

He's playing well, yes, but he's far more effective when playing on the right. Majority want chelsea to buy a left back and switch azpil to the right and ivan as a rotation cb/rb player.

Chelsea need strikers not full backs. Yes Luke is a Chelsea famn but that doesnt mean he will leave. I think he'll stay for another season at least.

I don't for a second subscribe to the 'Moyes is ****' platitude that seems to be all the rage these days, but I can't formulate a constructive argument for him being a better coach or manager than Pochettino. Moyes spent over ten years building an extremely impressive and consistent Everton side, but Martinez already has them playing the best football they've seen in the Premier League era. Is there one Manchester United player that you can pick out as an example of someone Moyes has got the best out of this season? Rooney's been impressive, but nothing new there. No one else has shone. Comparatively, Mata, Van Persie, Carrick and Fellaini have all been shadows of themselves. It's not only the players, but the way they play which disappoints. The Old Trafford aura has completely vanished. 6 home defeats is unheard of for United. Since Pochettino's arrival, Shaw, Chambers, Fonte, Cork, Schneiderlin, Steven Davis, Rodriguez, Lambert and in particular Adam Lallana, have all developed and improved as players. Comparatively for United, none of Jones, Smalling, Cleverley, Januzaj and Welbeck can be particularly happy with their progression this season.
The way I look at it, we'll start next season with a young, well-acquainted squad, managed by a great man-manager with a very specific philosophy. I don't think the same can be said about United.

If Poch stays I don't think he'll let Shaw or Lallana go. He had that problem losing top players at his last club. If they get £15m for Osvaldo (or even £10m), plus if Ramirez wants off to Milan I assume we'd ask for £10m plus. We should just reinvest that back into getting a GK, Central Defender, Wide Midfielder & Striker (My thoughts are Fraser Forster or Ben Foster, Astori or Caulker, Holtby or Andros Townsend & Hernandez or Ba. Though I accept it may need a bit more than the £25m we'd get in so maybe a little ambitious!

I have never read anything that suggests that Luke is thinking of leaving. He is happy and has time on his side. Only recently he remarked how important it was that the club gets Mauricio on a new contract as well as those players linked with other clubs...doesn't sound like anyone moving on to me. The only reason he would move is if we were desperate and he had to leave for the good of the club...and that isn't the case. People have got over-excited about our 'money problems'....no real ones as we retain the support of our owner.

Also have to remember that we don't know what the peak of Luke's ability is...it's not unknown for young players to seem fantastic but then don't seem to achieve their potential. Luke is better here for at least another season or two...and then we'll see where we are.

I'd be very surprised if Shaw stayed. Money talks and if the crazy numbers are true then we'd be foolish not to sell him.

He's good and I love seeing him in a Saints shirts, but £25-30mil? He's not THAT good. And he will spend half of his career injured so sell quick before he breaks :p

I'm not sure. I think he's genuinely happy here and won't push for a move.

But on the other hand, City, United, Chelsea and also Liverpool could do with a new left back, and an English one at that. If all those clubs enter a bidding war, it's possible Luke's price will skyrocket and our board will be tempted to accept the offer. If that happens, then I can imagine Luke would accept a move to a top club. Although it doesn't have to be true. Maybe he will push to stay with us another season or two. As I've said before, it seems he's quite happy here.

As I've said all along, if he's properly advised, he'll stay.

Not sure where you're going with the Moyes comparison to MP, I never mentioned that, but anyway, my point is that I think Shaw (if he leaves) would be better going to United than Chelsea and for all those people knocking United... beware; they are a club about to rebuild. Results may not be instant, but I'm sure it won't be long and may even be under a new manager.

Let's hope it's irrelevant and Luke stays.

And you should also beware. In 1976, you could have written just the same words about Leeds United after Don Revie left. Teams don't always come back.
