Is it the done thing to vote for him this year ? On the one hand, he has only played 12-15 games. On the other...he is head and shoulders above everyone else quality-wise.
He's above everyone for his level of performance, but due to him not really playing apart from 2nd half I'm having him 2nd for me, top is Lawrie Wilson, been class and consistent this season when no one else really has... apart from young Diego
I've been wondering the same thing, and decided not to vote for him. Morrison has played every minute of every game, and has been the mainstay of the defence and so will get my vote, but I wouldn't complain if Wilson or Cousins got it.
when do we vote?? i'm going to go for wilson. deserves it, last nights performance shows just how much we missed him
I too have been wondering this. 1st half of the season - Dale Stephens 2nd half of the season - Diego Poyet Overall - Lawrie Wilson
The voting stubs are in the back of the season ticket books if you have one. Otherwise I imagine it will be ticking the piece of paper at the Bolton/Watford games.
I personally would vote for cousins, played close to every game this season and, whilst he doesn't have the same skills as Poyet, he has been solid! Poyet second and Wilson 3rd for me
Cousins and Poyet have to get POTY and YPOTY - not sure who gets what, but the side can't compete without them.
I'll be voting for Morro. He is a solid mainstay who has marshalled our defence brilliantly. Cousins in second place. Poyet third.
JJ for me real charlton player loves the club loves us would vote for Poyet if meant he stayed but a certain portugeezer geezer won it not long ago felt the love and left !
Cousins for me, to play almost every game in his first season of first team football is a great effort. Poyet's only played for 2 months, Wilson may get a few votes because he used to be sh!te, but now he's alright.
Wiggins and Hamer have a chance. I think last night showed how crucial Morro is to us at centre half so he may edge it for me.

Probably one of the classiest players I've ever seen in the hallowed Charlton red, and only eighteen. But........he has only played the second half of the seadon (CP where were you?), so I'm not sure if he qualifies ahead of Hamer, Wilson, Morro and Cousins who.have slogged through an entire season. There again, Diego starting to play regularly has vaguely coincided with an upturn in the results so I would be tempted.
He didn't know about Poyet. Just before Stephens was sold Poyet wrote in the program that he was desperate for first-team football, L1 or anywhere just to try to get noticed by the gaffer. Plenty of others noticed him though- I was at a friendly against Bromley when Diego was 16, and both my mates were Bromley fans who remarked that he had time on the ball, which showed he was going to be some player, so you didn't need to be the world's greatest talent scout to see the obvious. CP didn't know about Cousins either until he was included in the pre-season tour and then he saw him play. I could understand the manager not watching the U-18's because they play match days (although as AHLL pointed out, Parky managed the first half), but not watching the U-21's?????????
Especially bearing in mind that S&J had introduced the under-21 side to help the club's youth policy, after Richard Murray had previously scrapped the reserves.
I would go as far as to say if Cousins & Poyet had played the whole season in midfield, as opposed to the likes of Gower, Green & Pritchard, we would be mid table now.
Back to the original question Poyet for POTY. If the bloke has had a more significant positive influence on the season than anyone else then he's POTY. I reckon he might have done that.
