Not many people slating him though, are there? In fact nobody slates him. That is the point I was making, after all.
Well look at the thread from 2 days on here, before we accepted an offer, and the opinions are divided between how good he is. The same as now.
Spanish white was the only not606 poster on that 606 thread and he called the transfer correctly: Well done Spanish white. But all the people on that article might still hold their views, doesn't mean anyone on here believes the same things they do, or did at the time believe the same things they did.

Phil is this you posting just under 2 months ago? seems very coincidental if its isnt "comment by philhleeds (U7765333) posted Apr 26, 2011 Excellent goalkeeper, he will be Prem bound though. Kasper has had some iffy moments but also some excellent ones, I wouldn`t want to see him leave." http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/F21061283?thread=8178457&show=50 P.s. this is just a jest. Everyone always changes opinions - but i genuinely think we may have snapped up a cracker!
To be honest, I'm very surprised he would even entertain a move from Leeds to Leicester. All I can think is, one team has ambition and is not afraid of spending money, whereas the other one doesn't spend the money while using the excuse, we won't be held to ransom. This day and age, there really is no time for not paying too much for players wages and transfer fees. If you do, you get left behind.
Like I said on your board, I think he could turn out good when under the right mentorship. He doesn't fit in at Leeds, too big-headed, but without wishing to disrespect, that sort of character is more welcomed at Leicester I feel. Sven's used to handling that sort of character, well, he's used to handling Schmeichel personally. Unless you don't think they're good enough and want to offload them and improve in that position.
lol best reply of the year contender there! I actually came over to here to see if you already had a good cover, or is it just that he wasn't looking to sign a contract extension and its actually been good business
Unsure what the panic is here, the guy shipped over 70 goals for us, has bad commanding of his area, his communication of the back 4 caused alot of mistakes i.e the bothroyd against cardiff. He doesnt come off his line enough and he flaps at crosses. Hes pretty good at shot stopping and will bring out some brilliance every now and again and some occasions can win you games, his distribution i would say was his best attribute But for me, he struggles with his bread and butter and unfortunately there is only so much a keeper can learn, And i think weve pretty much seen the best of him. So long kasper the friendly ghost, well thats it how it felt when we were shipping these goals in with a visible keeper present!
...or in £30 million debt. I think it's another case of the agent pulling the strings. Schmeichel's ego is big enough to believe that the agent is telling him he's the best player in the world and should demand the highest wages, which will be some ridiculous sum like £25k a week. Considering he's supposed to be already on £20 a week with us, it's not surprising.
If you show ambition and then don't go crazy when you get to the Premier League, that sort of debt is wiped out in a couple of seasons, even if you go straight down.
Not true in this case though in my opinion. We can do better than Schmeichel and we should do better. Your argument above is also flawed because the season after next, the League are bringing in some fairly tough rules on wage spending which means the unsustainable spending culture can't go on to the same extent. No club now will want to rise above that 60% threshold, to do so would be stupidity. We don't have any cover at all yet, I think it's just a good business move from United to sell an asset which looks like it's deteriorating but can still fetch a decent fee. Obviously Schmeichel's opinion is that he can still succeed at Leicester and I'm sure he can earn a few dollars more at the Walkers Stadium too. I expect Leeds to go out and buy a better goalkeeper anyway, which shouldn't be hard.
Kasper made some fantastic saves, which are the ones people seem to judge keepers on. He also made some mistakes, simple mistakes, in crucial games -all 3 goals away at Millwall he should have saved. He is young enough to improve, but he was part of our terrible defence. I think sometimes it seemed like he was so good, because he had more shots at him than other keepers and had the chance to make theractical save again and again, but the simple things like crosses and coming off his line he messed up on. Depends who we get to replace him really.
I'm bored and there is nothing to talk about on Norwich's board other than if Pilkington would be a good signing. You?
