http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20110620/offer-accepted-for-schmeichel_2247585_2379185? Good deal. I would just like to point out at this stage, that this post was created by steveherbe JUNIOR, who is too tied up with A levels to create his own login, hence he steals his dads! Therefore, take any posts from steveherbe to possibly be from Jack_the_wall_Hobbs, or is it now Sol_the_wall_bamba? Anyway, specualtion regarding transfers may not be from me - funny jibes at Cov and Forest fans WILL however almost certainly be mine!!
He has looked at good keeper everytime we have come up against him. Who remembers Cardiff at home the year we went down he was immense that game and he got Cardiff a draw Schmiechel no 1 Weale no 2
At 24 he´s still a young GK & will improve in years to come. If he´s on a 3 or 4 year deal I think we´ll see the best of him in a LC shirt in 2012 / 2013, having said that IF he´s, which I think he will be, 1st choice this season I think he´ll do very well because he quite alert & commanding in the box... BETTER THAN THE S*** WE`VE HAD RECENTLY... although I would of liked Given instead.
Im very happy with this signing- shows a clear drive for promotion. He will be on hefty wages i think - so the chairman is doing his part. Kasper knows Sven and at 24 he has plenty of time to develop into a great keeper. He has put in some great performances and although his game isn’t perfect – his age means that there is time to improve. Great Signing! Karma for losing Gradel?
Can I just point out that he hasn't actually signed. A bid has been accepted for him, it's up to him whether he wants to join and he has a medica, tomorrow. Would have preferred Westwood, but Kasper is still a good goalkeeper at this level and is still very young.
He hasn't signed yet. The Leeds Utd have accepted an offer for Kasper Schmeichel...the deal will only be done if Kasper Schmeichel and his agent can agree terms. If they can't the deal falls through.
Finally my signings itch has been scratched. As long as it doesn't fail over personal terms. Hope that he doesn't need to be tested too much this season, bring on the defenders! Shame we are still hearing nothing from the Leicester camp though
Great keeper, not the best for commanding his area. Great at distribution and will get a few assists for you. Im not gutted about him leaving tbf we conceded 70 with him in goal. He will be a top keeper, its just a matter of when???
Cheers for this - only one of a few well balanced posts. Admitting he is a loss but with areas to improve. Kudos to you sir! I hope he does improve, just as i hoped Gradel would do too!
I'm positive about his potential signing but it seems to me Leicester fans want something different in a keeper than Sven. Fans want a keeper to dominate his box and snuff stuff out whereas Sven wants a keeper that can pass as well as an outfield player. I hope fans are supportive of him because he is a good age and could go on to be a legend. Thanks for the heads up btw Monster.
According to the BBC/football we made a bid of 1.25 million quid, Leeeeeds said yes & it´s now in JS & his agents hands... should find out tomorrow ?
Just because he conceded 70 goals doesnt make him a bad keeper. A keeper is only as good as his defence
As a couple have said he's NOT signed yet. Nugent even agreed terms but now his move is in jeapordy. We agreed a fee for Yakubu. Don't be so sure yet. I wouldn't be surprised if West Ham come and take him from under our noses! Decent keeper, I think he's a bit overrated, the Leeds fans seem to be saying that much. Better than what we've already got though so a good signing if it happens.
Kasper Schmiechel has just said this on twitter I am putting out this statement now, but let me be clear that I have not signed with any other club, and as far as I am concerned I am still a Leeds United player. Statement. At the end of the season Leeds United and I both made a commitment to honour the last year of my contract and try to win promotion with Leeds United. Therefore it is with great disappointment that I have learned that Leeds United have accepted an offer from Leicester. I want to put on record that I have never asked to leave the Leeds United, nor did I reject an offer for a new contract, since one was never put to me. I was enjoying being a Leeds United player and was looking forward to winning promotion this season with the club. I have spoken to the manager Simon Grayson and he has made it clear to me, that, in spite of having played well for him, this is something he believes is a good deal for Leeds United. I have been put in a very difficult situation and will spend some time considering my options for my future.
