The irony of the punters' reaction is that it's possible to argue that our fans have been TOO patient and indulgent of what was happening at the club. Shouldn't they be praising us for TRYING to stick by our manager, unlike the other six teams down at the bottom (one of which have changed managers twice)?
Getting a bit off topic, but Gary Anderson wasn't half as good as he thought he was. The general opinion from those in F1 seemed to be that his explanations were about 10-15 years out of date, from about the time he left the sport. He was quite scathing in criticising teams for taking more modern approaches he didn't understand/know about, which I believe made teams less keen to discuss technical aspects of their cars with the BBC. He should have been replaced with someone with a technical background rather than another ex-driver though, I agree.
I don't think you can argue that the fans have been too patient. Hughton certainly wouldn't have lasted this long if it had been left to the fans! You could rightly argue that the board have been patient, and I think the board do deserve praise for that.
Agreed Gary Anderson is the reason I now watch all the races on sky whereas previously I watch bbc where possible. He was far too consistently wrong, it started in testing two years ago where he couldn't see that the McLaren package was genuinely pretty fast. I think he wanted to disagree with the general feelings to make himself look clever and be interesting but he just came across as arrogant and out if touch. Writes for autosport now but he's still useless. Personally I think it's very obvious he's not an engineer and alway used to rely on others to tell him how stuff worked.

to be fair rob, have you ever known the LMA to say anything different? it's not a slur against norwich - its just a fairly generic message they wheel out. oh, and the two facts they state are both correct, even if there was more to his demise than league position.
I know the facts are correct, they're fine, the bits I was objecting to are: "in particular with the timing of his dismissal" "We must recognize that Norwich City has come a long way in a very short space of time" The former because it's meaningless, the latter because that is the crux of outside opinion of us and is utterly irrelevant to Hughton's sacking. The view is that we have aspirations and expectations above what they perceive to be our station. And that is a slur against Norwich, there is no other reading. But really I was just wanting to have a laugh about the statement.
To be fair, how many of us had an opinion when Wolves sacked their manager when they were in the premier league or any other managers who have been sacked? They can think and say what they want, it doesn't really bother me.
Fans of every club really make me chuckle.. If a pundit says something good about their club then he is a pundit who knows what he is talking about but once the same pundit says something negative then he instantly becomes a knob who knows nothing.. ... there is only one scenario and that is Norwich have to beat fulham to have a better chance of staying up and hope any of the bottom three dont go on a winning streak.
If you care to check, you'll find we don't rate most pundits no matter what they say about us! The only one with any credit is Lee Dixon, and I'm sure Adrian Chiles will knock that out of him!
