Watching Chelsea is so frustrating. Tactics of attrition until they have the other team pinned back, then rely on the quality of one of the attackers.

If this fails, through a few long balls around and try again. No craft or ingenuity. Rafa's Chelsea played better football, to watch anyway.

They've turned Willian into a £30m pound winger who doesn't go into the box. Gets to the edge and passes sideways. No flair or excitement.

 

Be careful, alot of the sarcastic predictions from United about Liverpool this season have turned out pretty well (see my sig, for example) whilst alot of the more honest ones have turned out to be bollocks (being back ahead of us by January or how we won't be anywhere near top 4 come the end of the season).

Hopefully they'll have their minds elsewhere and will be tired too.

Flat out against a top team and then a trip to a rocking Anfield will be tough for them.

 

Hopefully their first leg is away from home in the midweek too.

 

To be honest your front six have been a delight to watch this season, and although the comment was (slightly ) sarcastic, i think you may just take a few European teams by surprise next season because you have been out of the spotlight for a while.

 

I think our team might be a bit too naive when it comes to Europe (particularly the two legged ties) and just gettin into the knockout rounds would be a decent achievement for us in our first season back.

 

Your defence could well be ripped apart, especially with the way you play as a team, but i see your attack getting a lot of joy.

 

Our defence isn't that bad - we're not ****ing Fulham!

We have time to strengthen that anyway.

 

Our defence isn't too bad, its the lack of protection thats a problem. Its been better since Gerrard's been sitting though.

 

That`s what i meant by "the way you play as a team" too much of a gap between defence and midfield whe you go forward.

 

Tbf they don't clear the danger quickly enough in some games and Ming seems to need an extra touch before clearing his lines, its a bit nerve racking watching them make little 5 yard passes around are area.

Carra's philosophy was if there wasn't a pass on welly it up the pitch.

 

We will be the best team to watch in Europe. Doesn't guarantee success though because you can always get Webbed in a cup (or in this case EuroWebbed) but we're probably about 85-90% chance to win it

I'm predicting Jones and Smalling to have a commanding game at the back and for Carrick and Fletcher to be the creative linchpins to start off all of United's intricate attacking play with piercing forward, defense splitting passes
