We dont need defenders or midfielders

Ben Arfa can play on the wing as well, we arent only going to ever play him in the centre you know. Also Jonas, Marveaux and Barton can/may feature on the right side as well.

I want 2 strikers in, 2 left backs and maybe a midfielder.

 

I never said I didn't want cover, just stating that next season I can see Jonas being mainly a right winger.

 

I never said he wasnt...my head was never in my dogs arse because i dont have a dog, your misses comes round some weekends but that hardly counts

 

Marveaux, Jonas and Ben Arfa can play on either wing but bringing in an additional winger isn't such a bad idea to cover for injuries if Barton finds himself at another club. We know that Guthrie can't play on the right as he drifts into central positions.

We need a RB to cober for Simpson, a LB (or two) to cover for Enrique (or replace him should he leave) and a few strikers that are of better quality than Ranger, Shola and Lover.

 

Pythagoras - you sure are controversial! I don't like to say this but you are right in the aspect of who we need to buy - but I woudl like to see Barnetta here.

If we get Long, and Erdinc, keep Lover and Best as backup and sell Shola and Nile, give players like Donaldson and Airey a chance next year also.

For the next season, we need - 3 GKs, 2 RBs, 2 LBs, 4 CBs, 4 CMs, 2 LMs, 2 RMs, a AMC and 4 Strikers + youths.

GK - Forster, Krul, Harper
RB - Simmo, new player
LB - Jose, Naylor
CB - Collo, Saylor, Willo, Kadar
CM - Barton, Tiote, Cabaye, Guthrie
LM Guti, Marveaux
RM Barnetta?, Gosling
AMC - Ben Arfa
ST Ba, Erdinc, Long, Best and Lover

3 Keepers is overkill, and you've forgot Gosling as well. Also loads of those players can play more than one position so it's too simplistic to suggest they will only play one place all season.

 

Just generally. If we keep on moving players, the won't get used to their positions and having a consistant team is important.

 

A cheeky bid for Azpilicueta from Marseilles as right back? .. got two important things going for him ..

1. Currently playing for Marseilles - so another from the French league (albeit Spanish, so a mucker for Jose)
2. A bit dodgy with regards injury (well been out for a few months with a nasty knee injury)

we definitely need a right winger IMO, Jonas is a LW (whoever said he was better on the right, when was this? you must have been watching the match in a mirror) Ben Arfa is going to play behind a lone striker, and Marveaux although it looks like he can play on either wing (i certainly hope he can, cutting in onto his preferred left foot). So that leaves us with two wingers both of which prefer to play on the left, definitely need strengthening in that dept IMO, and luckily for me it seems Pardew shares my sentiments.

Also, we only need one striker IMO since we're playing a 451 next season (according to Pardew). I'd like a 1st choice RB, and a backup LB.
