I think he was entitled to try the back 3 and although it was disastrous last night, it looked promising at anfield and we dominated West ham with it.

However, I'd go back to 4-3-3 if I were him as defending in a 3 looks beyond the capabilities of our available CBs. Agree with Parker that Cuellar is ok so I'd be happy with him alongside Wes.

I'd stick with Alonso rather than Jack but I agree he's not someone I'd look to sign permanently. Jozy or Connor to hold the ball up but we'd lack pace without Borini so my top 3 would be AJ, Borini and one of the big strikers. Scocco looked like he could at least kick a ball last night but I'd still use him sparingly if at all.

Wouldn't be upset to see Celutska replace Bardo. Can't be any worse going forward. Everton's threat is often down their left though so RB could be a problem for us. 442 might be Gus's choice to combat their threat.

Catts must play, Ki deep alongside him and perhaps Seb or Gards most advanced of the 3.

It's just pissing me off how poyet is killing us mate. he said today we need a miracle to stay up so by the looks of it we have given up. if people want there manager to say that then they are clueless like him.

Why does he keep picking that Vergini? I've seen you lot a few times lately and every time he's been absolute bobbins.

To me Vergini looks slow to turn and although he manages the odd good tackle, I think he has a lot of improvement to make if he's going to make it in England. I remember coloccini being bad first year and he is now a quality player. I do think commentators and tweeters like Mickey Gray have over exaggerated vergini's failings though. Which is shown by neutral fans singling him out.

    Reasons he picks him:
    He's excellent with the ball
The alternatives are almost as bad defensively but without his passing

Fair enough mate but I don't think he's a write-off. You can't teach someone to be comfortable on the ball. If we can improve him defensively he will be ok.

Didn't even know he played last night till I read the echo.

I said on here when Altidore got left out of the squad for wembley he will not be bothered no more about Sunderland & I don't blame the lad to. picking players like Fletcher & Scocco above him was a joke.

Something we do agree on. Hes been treat dereadfully by a large section of fans and the cup final just added insult to injury.

Its best for all that he leaves Sunderland really.

The last player to be treat like Altidore was Elmohamaday whos gone on to do very well at Hull and will be playing in the premiership next seaaon unlike us.
