For those fans that like to follows the football league divisions, and I include myself in that, there's an intriguing match tonight between Bournemouth and Reading. The south-coast team were tipped for relegation at the start of the season but, after a recent run of 4 straight wins, they find themselves just 5 pts behind sixth-placed Reading going in tonights game. A win tonight would put them 2 pts behind with 5 games left. We've seen it before, a team sneaking into sixth at the end of the season with momentum...
I had them down for promotion at the beginning of the season at 500-1 and have been following their season with interest. They're looking really strong and I fancy them to get something from tonight's game. I'm pretty sure this is what Blackpool did when they went up?
What was Bloomfield Road's capacity when Blackpool were in it? I know they regularly got crowds of less than 12,000.
Yeah probably. They'd extend it if they went up. Portsmouth's ground was only just over 20,000 when we played there in our first season.
If Bournmouth beat Reading @ home tonight and then win @ Yeovil on saturday then it is game on for them for sure. But i dont see beyond Wigan Athletic via the play-offs joining Lesta and Burnley in next seasons PL. That for us is great news when it comes to away day travel. Keep an eye on Rotherham in league one and York in league two doing well in the play-offs also.
Promotion would be to early for them. Bit of a stretch, but what a ride. Eddie Howe is great for English football.
It would be incredible for them and from our point of view they'd be an absolute free hit for relegation. Go Bournemouth!!!
Leeds seem to be losing every week at the moment. They can't be far off being in a relegation battle now surely?
