Watford's playoff hopes are slim at best, though the Hornets have found decent form at home of late - something they will be looking to continue against the travelling Whites. There may be an end in sight to Leeds' off the field issues, but the team still need a performance to end an appalling run, seeing them lose 4 in a row after losing to Wigan at the weekend. Watford are enjoying a better run, managing a draw against promotion contenders Burnley last time out. Sannino's men will be looking to continue Leeds miserable run with another home victory to please their fans. Historically Leeds have the upper hand and are unbeaten in their last 6 meetings with Watford, but the form table shows that run is very seriously under thread this time out. Leeds Wins 7 Draws 6 Watford Wins 4

Watford Form Leeds Form

D 1 - 1 Burnley Wigan 1 - 0 L Last Game

W 4 - 1 Sheff Weds Charlton 1 - 0 L 3-3

D 3 - 3 Blackburn Doncaster 2 - 1 L Draw

L 2 - 1 Wigan Bournemouth 4 - 1 L 7/10/13 - Elland Road

W 3 - 0 Barnsley Millwall 2 - 1 W

Top Scorers Current Positions

Leeds Ross McCormack...27 Matt Smith...10 Rodolph Austin...3 Watford Troy Deeney...20 Lewis McGugan...8 Fernando Forestieri...7

Team P W D L GD Pts

12 Watford 29 13 14 12 +13 53

16 Leeds 40 13 8 19 -8 47

Team News Damned's Starting XI

Watford please log in to view this image Fernando Forestieri (Injured) please log in to view this image Cristian Battocchio (Doubtful) Watford are likely to be unchanged from last time out, hoping to continue their home form. The team will have had a lift with off the field issues seemingly being resolved, and after strong words in the press from Cellino the players are playing for their place in the squad. Austin to return for me, replacing a tired Michael Brown and McCormack to partner Smith up front. Byram pulled up short on Saturday, and I don't think he'll be risked here. Afterrnoon Dammed, Bucks, & those joining. I think we will win this because players will be out to impress both BMD and Cellino. Players like Ross, Byram if he's fit and a couple of others are nailed on certainties for next season if we can hang on to them. But there are plenty of others wondring if they'll still be at Leeds next season, or indeed will be anywhere in the FL next seaon. Definitely an opportunity to impress the new owner. Leeds to win 2-1, & the crowd to be our 12th man.
Cheers Bucks, afternoon Boggers & anyone else joining Chance for a fresh start for Hunt? Bags a goal in his first game of the Cellino era and goes on to have a career here like Ross after his 8 month starting drought? Wishful thinking?
The result is meaningless to me now as the season was ****ed back in December. I think we're safe but the manager needs to play a team that he thinks will be at the club next season, players who are good enough in his opinion to make it. Yes we may end up fielding 4 players against Watford but just for once I hope we play some free flowing football. 14 - 0 Leeds Great match day template by the way
That'd be an amazing result Doc! Cheers for the comment on the thread, it's taken a while beating the forum code restrictions into submission to get it to this point!
i feel a wave of, dare i say it, optimism leeds to scrape a 2-1 win with ross finally scoring a pen...
Cheers glory! Don't agree on the score though. We've conceded 9 in our last 5, so I can see them scoring. Just hope we score at least as many!!
Yes I would agree, top thread DU easy to read and plenty of solid information...I will hope the run of defeats come to a halt, a win might be pushing it but we can always dream. A 1-1 draw sounds about right to me.
