Jovetic has a good scoring record, so him and Aguero are back for this one!

This, I doubt Kompany and the other chap (can't spell his name..) will be marking them for more than 5mins in the game, they'll be all over the place, which if the other chap decides to go a-following will leave space behind for the likes of Hendo, Sterling/Ford to pop into, also, in a tight space, I'd back Suarez to turn Dimi-what's-his-name.
However, the same can be said of their strikeforce, esp. if Sergio Aguero plays when playing up against our defence.
Cracking game on the cards no doubt, hope the best team wins and its not marred by controversy!

Brendan Rodgers has revealed why his Liverpool players cannot wait to stride onto the Anfield pitch again when they host Barclays Premier League rivals Manchester City this Sunday.

At their two most recent home fixtures, the Reds' passionate supporters have raised the decibel levels to generate atmospheres in which the manager's charges have dismantled their opponents.

Ahead of the midweek clash with Sunderland last month, fans lined the streets outside the stadium to welcome their heroes, before the Kop roared their team to a handsome victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Having restored their two-point advantage at the summit of the division with a 2-1 triumph at West Ham United at the weekend, Rodgers and his squad are relishing the next obstacle in their path.

"It will be great," the boss told Liverpoolfc.com of the top-of-the-table encounter against City. "The supporters will be really looking forward to that one.

"My only thought is on the next training session - I need to prepare the team now and we'll have a good week's work. We're really looking forward to going to Anfield.

"The atmosphere will be magnificent. We've just got to go and play our game and keep that composure and calmness that we've been playing with. If we can do that, hopefully we can get three points."

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was typically at the epicentre of the club's latest win, stroking in a pair of penalties to secure a ninth consecutive victory at the expense of the Hammers at Upton Park.

The battling and determined nature of Sam Allardyce's team ensured the tie was hard-fought throughout the 90 minutes - and passing the examination was pleasing for Rodgers.

"We just continued to stay calm," the Northern Irishman added. "In the first half, we worked very hard and looked like we could create, but never got into too many threatening positions.

"In the second half, we changed it - we went to a diamond and then dominated the centre of the field more with the ball - and looked a really good side.

"It was a wonderful victory for us and we again had to show character and stand up to the physicality of West Ham, because they have a very direct game. The two centre-halves were outstanding and eventually we got the goals; Stevie's penalties were so cool."

This^! <ok>

Hoping for a boss Anfield match, with the fans, once again, in fine voice!

Tough one to call, but I'm hoping we can just nick it a la West Ham away. Come on lads! <cheers>

its bound to be a fairly open game as well as neither side are particularly defensive minded, impossible to predict a score other than it wont be 0-0

What a load of chin music Jovetic has churned out! Can't really blame him as he just doesn't know The Premiership and he certainly doesn't know LFC. More importantly, he hardly knows his team mates. Nice piece of media detritus.

I've been like this for every game, especially as the final straight has come into view.
I accept that we can lose, but there's no point in worrying about it.
This is why we're in it, it's what we've been wanting for a long time, for this stage of the season to really mean something.
Time to be excited, not nervous.
Bring it on.

Man City plotting ‘huge investment’ in Suarez

Duncan Castles Published: 6 April 2014

MANCHESTER CITY are ready to make a “huge investment” to lure Luis Suarez from Liverpool this summer. The Uruguay international is aware of the interest from City and other leading European clubs and will decide his future at the end of the season.

Txiki Begiristain, City’s director of football, knows Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko could ask to leave the Abu Dhabi-owned club this summer and has identified Suarez as his priority for the role of main striker. He believes the release clause included in the contract the Uruguayan signed at Liverpool in December makes a transfer viable if the player chooses to move...

It will never end <doh>

I don't have a bloody £ key on my crappy American keyboard! I should be excused occasionally putting a $ by accident so I don't have to type in the ascii code for £ on my num pad.

Hopefully Toure plays again against us - there'll be so much space for our midfielders to control the game.

I seem to be one of the few who think Demicheles (sp) is actually alright tactically and position wise but he's really flat footed and I can see Suarez having a field day against him.

I bet you Henry has been told by a drunk Ayre on more than one ocassion to stop thinking in that dirty yank currency. And then Henry has smiled like mona lisa and perforated Ayre's brain with his laser stare increasing his inebriation further...
