Very interesting Surlyc, I hadn´t realised that, I naturally knew that McNally had been at Fulham, but that info was new to me <ok>

I think the only people who see it as unMcNally-like are those that wanted Hughton to stay.

McNally has a very strong record for unexpected but decisive actions. I'm scratching my head whether any have been a mistake. I think this is probably the riskiest one of all.

I would be extremely unsurprised if the following happens:
    (1) Adams keep us up narrowly
    (2) Adams is appointed full time manager
    (3) Adams is fired c.5 games into next season

mcnally was excellent in the presser yesterday. i think he's been caught out a couple of times this season by the media who have taken things he's said out of context and twisted them for effect (surely not?! <laugh>) but he's still the most important man at our club and probably the best CEO we could ever hope to get.

Actually, correcting my above post, your example couldn't be more apt:

From the BBC article at the time:
    Matches you had to play:
    Reading away
    Blackburn at home
    Arsenal away
    Liverpool at home
    Middlesborough away

That looks like a considerably easier run-in than ours on the face of it, but you still had two CL clubs and lest we forget, this was a Blackburn team in Europe and a Reading team chasing a Europe spot. So you really pulled it out of the bag (though scraped over the line) by beating Liverpool and drawing with Blackburn.

Worth noting that the following season to sacking Coleman (and making the poor decision to appoint Sanchez), McNally was also involved in the snap decision to interview and appoint Roy Hodgson when he stopped in London overnight on his way to accept a job with Inter Milan. Best managerial appointment we made in decades.

So, you know... swings and roundabouts. :p

I managed to get four in the neutral section! Dreadful seats - too near the pitch for my liking, but the atmosphere is going to be buzzing as that stand is basically all Norwich. There were still a few going spare. I was able to book up to four because of booking history, which was lucky. There are tons of empty Fulham stand seats though.

<laugh> I've clocked there is a single empty seat in the row in front a few down. Might relegate one of them there if stupid questions are asked...

Earlier in the thread I questioned the assertion that an U18 coach would be well known by all the players. In the Telegraph today Russ is quoted as saying “Maybe the lads who don’t know much about him certainly do now after the meeting we had.". Pah!

Anyway, it sounds like the introductions went well enough. We'll fight them on the beaches... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...h-Citys-hopes-of-Premier-League-survival.html

I can't see it myself. If Sunderland go down it'll be for making the mistake to give Di Canio the summer transfer window then enough games in September to get them cut adrift. No matter how well Adams does in the next 5 games, he's got no experience in the transfer market, and is not a name that is going to help us make signings. I can't see McNally making that mistake.
I'd prefer to see McNally and co bring someone new in, but get them to accommodate Neil Adams in a senior coaching role. It would make the transition slightly easier, continues Adams' development, and if the coach coming in was foreign, help them settle in better.
