Woah there. John Henry has one interest - Warrior Sports. Unlike our owners brand, the more successful Liverpool are the more Warrior will sell kits, the higher the profile of the brand. There is always more than meets the eye if you are willing to take a look. Our owner requires column inches and advertising. The success of the club is an irrelevance as long as they remain in the premier league. Same anywhere. Chelsea were nothing more than Romans route to the Monaco set, but he had to keep the clubs profile up. Man City are a vehicle for Dubai and it's vital that again there's an association with money, power and success - that's branding. The amount of examples of a club trying to be successful just because of who they are is limited.

He may be backing them with finance but again there is a debt building there, the loans made into the club there are not interest free either, will be interesting to see next accounts across the PL, some clubs expenditure was based on the increase in revenue from the new tv deal as well, Southampton I note whilst being well run on the pitch are stacking up a lot in deferred transfer fees and a 100% increase in the capital project for their new training base, £15mil to £30 mil, paid off £22mil transfer fees on last accounts but still a further £27 mil to be paid, this includes players who have left the club, the Freddy Shephard school of football finance.

I sponsor dogs at Dogs Trust as a small measure to balance my sins.

I would rather have an owner who backs his manager and let's him get on with his job, to bring success to the club. That is what the Liverpool owner is doing. Our owner want financial gain full stop.

Man City have top of range academy hoping to bring to bring through British talent. I remember Hazard being mentioned in thread as a possible player we should go for, well Chelsea got him and look where they are. Liverpool let Rodgers sell Carroll but wouldn't budge when Arsenal wanted Suarez. All I want is an owner who yes has good financial sense but cares enough to push the club on and hopefully bring success. If they are British or foreign it doesn't matter,

Unfortunately we've had owners who weren't really interested in football and weren't too bothered about success, they only invested in the Club to make money out of it

As I said, NUFC's issue is that the success of the owners' core business is not linked to success for the football club, beyond staying in the PL with its' audience of 1bn viewers.

Not 100% true, don't forget that they have achieved Cat 1 status for the academy and have a major investment in this area with more being invested into the training facilities, not all take only 95%.
