So, tell me, mate - are you getting off on fomenting arguments over something you're not bothered about?
Interesting take on "defeated". CTWD campaign is solely about keeping the name Hull City, which is happening.
Not getting off on anything. You will find that all of the posts on here are from CTWD members or people that agree with CTWD and are against the name change. I stated a valid point against the argument and I get sniped down and get lots of personal threats and abuse thrown at me.. So I'll give it back, simples.
"But every poll conducted so far suggests that our view is the majority view..." "Suggests" implies that the question of who has the majority hasn't yet been decided. No bluff being called, no outright lie. The ballot included the vote of members of staff as well as the block votes of the corporate sponsors and club members. It is possible a majority of season ticket holders may have voted no to Hull Tigers. Unless the voting figures are broken down further we'll not really know.
I am NOT in CTWD. I want AA to stay. I'm happy with were we are thanks to The Allams , Steve Bruce and the players. I am deffinatly not an anti Allam. BUT THE POLL WAS FERKING STUPID. How the hell did more then 100 vote for yes to Hull. Tigers ???? Ffs I have never ever met anyone who prefer the name Hull Tigers. Even I voted NO. Who on here prefers the name HULL TIGERS ????? the only thing this poll has showed is that the big majority don't even care enough to vote.. No to Hull Tigers never won.......Yes to Hull Tigers never won either. Could not give a fook won . THE FA WILL SAY NO anyway what ever CTWD or the. ALLAMS say. AA should drop the idea when they do . Fingers crossed . -------------- We are Hull City.....The Tigers. Because the FA will say so.
Why don't you now CTWD have been defeated. Because lets be honest, the time you've wasted on a load of sh*t hasn't been productive has it? In fact CTWD have done nothing...
Is this your idea of debate? Tomorrow the name change will be rejected, then the CTWD campaign will be over, unless our owner decides to pursue this nonsense for longer.
CTWD campaign to keep the name. What's the name? As I said, if you've got a point on the subject, make it.
I have a point I would like to make. If CTWD had not lied to people over the minutes of the meeting with Assem Allam they may have got more votes and probably would have won. People tend not to vote for proven liars.
Before the meeting you gave an assurance you would release the minutes of the meeting. You failed to do this.
Then we would get into the argument of how many CTWD members still want Assem Allan is charge, its stated often enough that CTWD has no other argument about Allams ownership. Before making statements in support of Assem Allams general ownership of the club, has CTWD conducted a ballot of its membership? So the only conclusions that can be made are about the number who did not vote but could have and the number who actually voted against as the number one question was biased. Those that voted with the third option should be considered to have abstained. So the only conclusions are that the majority who took part in the ballot voted in support of the name change and Assem Allams tenure. That the majority of season pass holders did not vote. That the number against the name change roughly the same as it always has been. There has not been, even after a prolonged debate, a significant swing in opinion. The silent majority has not been engaged in this whole affair. Next season if we were called Hull Tigers, not enough would stop going to cause any real impact.
I will be finding something else to do with my time after the CTWD AGM. I played my part in trying to keep our name, and it looks like it wasn't wasted. We haven't lost, we stood up for our hertigage and to an old man that wanted revenge against a Council that wouldn't do what he wanted. There is no hidden pot of gold that will magically appear if we become Hull Tigers. The FA committee rejected his business case for the change. He didn't have the confidence to hold the ballot before he made the application nor when it could have been used to support his response to the committee vote. He allowed block votes for corporate sponsors and club members and may have given his employees a vote even if they don't hold a season ticket and he won by less than 50 votes. There are no winners and we could see this farce continue into next season.
Before the meeting we said we'd let people know what was discussed, no formal minutes were actually taken at the meeting(it was the clubs meeting, not ours), we just made some notes on what was said and though the precise wording hasn't been revealed, the gist of everything that was said has been posted.
You seem to have missed my point. You said "What the season pass ballot clearly shows, without any doubt is that the number of season pass holders against the name change is roughly the same as it has been right from the start." I suggest that it doesn't show that at all, just as the fact that only 2,500 people voted for the Allam's to remain in charge doesn't show 'without any doubt' that only 2,500 people want them to remain in charge. What the poll actually tells us, is absolutely **** all.
