What an utter disgrace they were in that second half. They gave up. Absolutely unforgiveable. They should be totally ashamed of themselves. I assume Poyet will resign now as he said he would walk if the players stopped trying. Not sure if he'd be missed either. The fans who travelled down should be refunded by the players. You accept defeats, even bad ones. Not trying, giving up is not acceptable.

Except that this is the same squad that look good until the last five games when we were on course to survive. Recent performances look more like a morale or attitude problem.
I feel sorry for Poyet. This squad is beyond repair. Only a few will give a toss when we go down. Like Di Canio said earlier on in the season "I can’t change the heart of my players.”
That time they looked good was over a two and a half month period, they did very well, but the season isn't only two months, we were ****e before that period and we've been ****e after. They lack consistency, heart, effort and concentration, that's even before we get on to technique and ability. Not good enough. Just like they weren't last season or the season before.
I'd even go as far as to say i'm in high spirits. Looking forward to next season, ordered my season ticket. Been preparing myself for the drop for a while.
Unfortunately we live in the times of players on good contracts with guaranteed salaries. There will always be a club that needs their services so they cannot possibly lose.
Might be a good thing in the long run. Get shot of these heartless, useless, plastic excuses of footballers & build from the foundations again. Do we still get parachute payments when going down to the championship? Looks like our aspirations will once again be the tin pot championship title which we should be used to by now. Should build a giant ****ing yo-yo outside the ground instead of a miners lamp.
There's no relegation clauses, so getting rid won't be as easy as it sounds. O'Shea in the Championship......shudder.
It's a shame because I thought if we could survive this season we could start again and clear the lot out. Sadly when you sign 14 players in the summer and only the keeper gets a game it shows how disastrous our pre season was. If we go down, which looks inevitable, then there may be no quick cure.
Would have been so different if we had signed Pullis!!! Even if Poyet stays, IMO he'll be gone by Xmas as he appears to be a clueless one trick pony!!! With our squad or what's left of it we will struggle next season!! Bart
