For a bent poll that's meaningless and doesn't change anything, there's a lot of angst on here about it.

A simple majority of less than 50 for the man who put £80 million into the club to give us the best season we've had and threatened to walk away if he didn't get his way. Not an overwhelming vote of confidence.

I don't think anyone's pretending not to be pissed off at this farce. Once again we're reported in the national media as a shambles of a club, this time it's specifically the fans that look like silly bastards.

The ballot was bent as ****, we both know that but neutrals won't and I'll be explaining this to people for the next few days. Hopefully it'll be forgotten by Wednesday.

As will many who voted and even campaigned against it, Obi.

We have had this debate about the silent majority many times. Assem Allams ego is massaged as much by the bums on seats as it is by this warped ballot. The fact remains that the biggest vote out of the three was in support of the name change.

    Indeed, Happster.

At least I have been consistent in my views since August (no to Hull Tigers and Allam out), though I have become increasingly happier with each outburst and idiotic move from Assem & Son.

This poll result reflects badly on the club as it can be twisted to make it seem like we fans are all hankering for a name-change, when, in fact, even this hugely-biased ballot - on closer inspection - goes against the owner.

There have been far more than three polls, more like 10-15 in total. Only the one organised and controlled by Allam was in support of the name change. It was also the only one with a question completely separate from the name change, so me conceding that the results came out in favour of a name change is being kind to Allam.

Don't **** yourself, PLT - those in favour are but a majority of a minority. Surely you realise that?

No it wasn't. The vote was in support of Assem Allam remaining the owner of the football club. I know that and so do you. If he thought he could have won a straight Hull Tigers/Hull City we'd have had the vote a long time ago.

How many corporate sponsors and club membership votes do you think he got? 100, 200, 300? How many do you think actually voted 10, 20, 30, 40? How many asked the other occupants of the boxes/seats?

The ballot was flawed and the FA will give it the correct weight when making their decision. The only question facing Assem Allam is does he want this to continue next season, or is he going to start rebuilding some unity between the club and supporters, all supporters.

Indeed Happy, but what pisses me off is the fact that Peter ****ing Levy's stupid face appears on the box telling everyone that the Yes vote won, which is then compounded by ****e like that Daily Mail piece. I've spent an hour trying to put people straight on my Facebook page about the reality of this bent ballot. It makes us look ****.

I'm not pissed off about it, nor are quite a few others, stop trying to claim you speak for the majority. Bemused at the reaction to it mostly.

As has been stated time after time, the majority do not care one way or the other. Nearly 9k fans didn't even bother with the poll, it means nothing to them. All that matters is they can carry on with their tradition of going to see their local team play football, now against the best teams in England, with an FA cup run and chance of a cup, plus the unthinkable chance of playing in Europe. The rest is merely noise to them.

The absolute bottom line is, out of the season ticket holders, CTWD couldn't get more support than they've already got actual members (this is allowing for the fact individuals cast block votes, and yes, for both sides). Sure, only slightly more directly support Dr Allam but nearly 9k are not against him. I realise you can spin that the other way to almost 9k don't outright support him, but whichever way, they don't support directly either of the 2 sides, who appear to be both in the minority.

The silent majority are, and have always been, silent. As long as they have *a* club in Hull to watch play football, they REALLY couldn't give a crap about anything else.

I don't understand why anyone's surprised by that.

Moaning about press coverage not painting the picture you want is slightly churlish too given the love in with the press over the last few months. I've also warned against trusting the way the press report anything.

I find this all funny .. like a playground trying to say "we are right" .. let the businessmen decide what happens .. no one else .. after the leeds takeover was approved "after it went away from the FA which the allams will do this summer" .. does anyone think the FA have any actual power ? .. in general ?

Only of 17% of eligible voters backed the owners, even after their appeal to the silent majority to speak up.

The Allams made it a vote of confidence & they've shot themselves in the foot as a result.

The other polls were and still are irrelevant, the only one that mattered is the one which asked the questions, whatever they were, of the people who pay for season tickets. Regardless of your views on the results, its the most accurate too.

No and Yes neck and neck, silent majority exactly that, the majority.

Not claiming to be the most intelligent poster on here, but pretty sure I would beat your good-self in an IQ test.
I concede however that you win the "dragging the knuckles along the floor" competition, so you are not without your own talents.

With the sad news of the passing of Andy Davidson the club should have shelved the 'vote' result instead of rushing out a very botched announcement which makes the whole charade look and sound dodgier then it was.

You cannot know that. The ones I know that didn't vote care a great deal but didn't want to be part of a meaningless sham.
