Sorry, missed these replies. My belief is that everyone likes to proved right, and my opinion is that this board would have looked different if the results had been different. However, as it is, we will never know. As for belittling other posters, are you aiming that accusation specifically at me? If so, you should really take a greater interest in other users activities on here.
You can have your own opinion, but not your own facts. As I said, the answer to your question is a resounding YES, the ballot would have been treated with equal disdain. A part of that proof is that it is being treated with disdain now despite a huge majority clearly not being in favour of the name change.
I voted NO and my conscience is clear. The FA will back me up and Allam will have to decide how he wants to get out of the corner he has painted himself into. Honest fans and long-standing fans of the club at loggerheads with each other, all so that he can have his ego stroked - well he can do one. I recall several previous polls, none heavily-weighted in favour of either position, which attracted thousands of votes and resulted in resounding outcomes of 'NO'. Anyone who think any sensible person will make any sort of conclusion based on today's results of a farcical poll are sadly mistaken.
Can I be honest and say I started celebrating when I read the poll question? So much so that I never even bothered lowering myself to actually voting.
This is my reaction, I've had friends round the country who have seen this and think we have rolled over to have our bellies tickled, more like pussies than Tigers in truth- a bit like anybody who actually would vote Yes to this who isn't a bit thick
