http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/26835673 Interesting, going be a night race to celebrate 10th anniversary
Really unlucky start to the season for Ricciardo, he's quick and delivering the goods and seems like a good guy but can't get the breaks. Sure he'll get a win at some point. I do hope some of the other teams close the gap because it'll just get repetitive (even though I'm pro Merc as I like both drivers and the car is great) as it does when any one team dominates. Williams look pacy, would love to see them back at the sharp end, Ferrari can't go on much longer like this it's several very sub-standard seasons in a row, McLaren I hope get quicker for a Button swan song and Magnussen who looks like a future WDC winner. Would like to see Force India, Sauber and Lotus join the party too. Realistically Caterham, Marussia and Toro Rossos won't move much now due to lack of experience, resources and investment. Also you probably missed it as it's on Sky. It's really irritating how the BBC coverage isn't consistent and hard to find the times of each session for some races.
At least with Mercedes this year there seems to be competition between each driver. Problem with last few years has been it's only been 1 person, if Webber had been quicker and put up a challenge that most others in that car would have been able to do then it would have made things more interesting (unless Red Bull decided to not let them race each other). I'm sure Red Bull and Alonso will be there or thereabouts come the end but at the moment it seems like it's going to be 1-2 Hamilton/Rosberg.
I think on the whole Webber was considerably off Vettel's pace but that also, really strangely, everything seemed to go in Vettel's favour/to his advantage in team politics. Sure other drivers would have been quicker than Webber (but Vettel didn't want them there) but he never got RB's full backing as Vettel was numero uno. Hopefully we get some fireworks at Merc, maybe as soon as tomorrow, to give us excitement and controversy which is what the sport lives and breathes off, or should do.
I certainly think Red Bull were set up as Vettel's team and they never gave their full backing to Webber. Had Webber been behind Vettel and been told to hold back and he'd overtaken him do we think the same punishment (none at all) would have been given to him as was to Vettel? I think in the early stages of the season Mercedes will hopefully let them race each other (within reason) and not show favouritism until the last few races if there is a clear favourite for the title. Hamilton is probably the quicker of the 2 (a small mistake just denied him pole today) but he always seems to have more issues throughout the season with may help Nico if he can consistently finish on the podium.
Just been reading the report. Sounded like a good race. [NSFW]Hamilton & Rosberg were allowed to fight it out for 1st place with them both being way ahead of the field by sounds of it. Good result for Perez and Force India in 3rd place though.[/NSFW]
Only just got round to watching highlights, wow great racing from Rosberg and Hamilton Mercedes just let them both go for it and they did! Not giving each other an inch of space, good stuff
i saw it too. the track helped a lot, the traction these cars have also seemed to help. the track is very wide so it allowed them to push each other round. vettel and riccardo went at it too.
Only showing was on at same time as Liverpool game in the US. Didn't watch. Results helped the team I picked though. Still not made a trade, but will before next race.
