Tough on Jay and I wish him a speedy and successful rehab.

He might not have made the final 23 for the World Cup, but he was doing more than anyone on the fringes of the squad to force his way into it.

He should be proud of a great season where he will no doubt finish top scorer. Next year will be tough without pre-season but i'm confident he will get back his best

No guarantee he would have played more than a few minutes, but I'm sure he would have gone to the world cup. Real shame.

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I'm going to miss Jay and his celebration.

Gutted for Jay. Seems a nice lad and with all the tossers playing professional football, typical this happens to a good lad at the peak of his powers with something amazing ahead for him.

Gutted for the lad, really am, I just hope this has no knock on effects long term and he can start where he left off. On a positive note this could be a gift to Gaston - a run of games will do him a world of good.

Come on Gaston, now's your chance to step it up.

Honest, hardworking, likeable lad. Really is a shame. They are so many knobs who play football. He isn't one of them.

Gutted for a top lad. I wonder if Hodgson will tell us what his plans were for Jay. Probably not.

Don't want to rush him back. Rather he was out 6 months and his knee fully healed.

It won't be. ACL injuries are not easy to come back from.

The one consolation is that he's young. If Rickie got this injury it probably would have been the end of Rickie in a Saints shirt and we'd be even more devastated for him as he would miss his one and only chance of a World Cup.

The club, fans, players and staff really do all seem to rally around nicely. Good to see.
