i totally agree. i already think he is a good manager. i think he did very well last season and was slightly below par this season, but then my expectations were to finish a handful of points above the relegation zone - something which may well still happen. ok it hasn't worked out here in the end but i still think with a little more luck on the injury front this season we'd have seen improvements. the style of play definitely progressed this season but we haven't been able to maintain it. our possession stats must be far higher. ironically, results went backwards as a knock on! he may have to drop into the championship (forest would have been perfect - can't believe they've appointed no-hoper stuart pearce) but he'll be back managing in the premier league, probably sooner rather than later. hopefully he won't come back to haunt us.

when we won games, fans moaned that the football wasn't good enough.

when we won games playing well it was because the opposition didn't turn up.

when we played well but lost it was the managers fault.

when we battered teams but couldn't score against inspired goalkeepers it was the managers fault.

when either comfortably in control of a match or on level terms and a player made an elementary mistake which cost us a game it was the managers fault.

basically, what i'm saying is that it didn't really matter what he did in the end - too many fans had already decided he 'wasn't for them'. any excuse will do. at the end of the day we didn't score enough goals - that has been our major problem since he arrived.

It's possible, but as I said before, I think he needs to think about what went wrong at CR and learn from it.

I also think he needs to ditch his backroom boys and get a team which complements, rather than exacerbates, his tendency to overcaution.

i was always for a shake up of the backroom staff whenever things started to drift. i think that could have made a big difference but its down to the manager at the end of the day. i agree that he should try other coaching staff in his next job - new voices might help him.

I was going to add that his backroom staff especially Caldewrwood is an additional shackle- I was hopeful that earlier in the season, they would have been changed, but alas

Too many occasions the positive things didn't happen, even then alot were through a negative outlook by the manager.

The fans moaned because the football wasn't good enough. Last season he had the run which saved him, but the football was the same philosophy.

When we battered teams, "when" is the correct term. The rarity of this happening was dependent on awful teams showing up at Carrow Rd eg Cardiff and Sunderland.

It all revolved around the style of football, it absolutely dominated everything and sucked the life out of everyone.

I think part of the frustration with Hughton has come from the lack of establishing a consistent level. I don't mean in terms of results, but just having a base level that we consistently hit. Sometimes we were OK, sometimes we were awful, & personally I never had any idea which we'd be.

Anyone know when Leroy Fer will be back?, we have missed his presence in midfield in my opinion.

    good post <ok>

consistency. something all teams strive for. something we've never quite found.
