Knowing Sherwood I think we can expect: Bentaleb; Bentaleb, Bentaleb, Bentaleb, Bentaleb; Bentaleb, Bentaleb, Bentaleb, Bentaleb; Bentaleb, Bentaleb.

I'd like to see: Lloris; Fredericks(probably not in the squad), Dawson, Vertonghen, Rose; Sandro; Lennon, Sigurdsson, Eriksen, Chaldi; Ade.

I like that Giaccherini, I thought he'd do well when he came to you in the summer. Very surprised not to see him get more game time. I'll be happier if he's not starting tonight.

He hasn't really made an impact, but he's never been given a run, you know when a player comes from abroad he needs a run of 8-10 games, nobody has given him that.

You can see in his movement and the way he carries the ball he's a cut above, yet he's overlooked for the likes of Bridcutt.

    Baffling mate.

3rd top scorer in site of all this.

Thats what I mean, its nice to hear someone who's seen more of him agree! If he'd been given a good run in your team he's the quality of player that MIGHT be able to drag you out of your league position IMO.

    Yeah.

Juve wanted to keep him, he was on 8k a week we offered him 4 times that, Juve gave him the option, and he rightly took it, being a late developer it was his chance to secure his family's future.

The fact Juve wanted to keep him (and Inter, Juve & Napoli are all after him now, allegedly), shows that we have wasted the lad.

    We are bottom FFS.

He was on that little (for a footballer)? And I always wondered why he left Juve...reckon he'll be off then if you drop?

He'll be off either way mate, treat with a total lack of respect.

He was on a pittance as pre Juve he'd never really stood out, he had a season and a half at Cesena in Serie A, the second season being strong earned him the move, but Cesena, he'll have been on pennies.

I'm wondering who will be fighting the hardest to win this game,Sunderland or Spurs?
I hope we are not going on to the field thinking 3 points are in the bag because Sunderland are at the bottom. Those days are gone!!!!

Not sure about that team, seems too open but that's the way we've been playing under Sherwood, we attack, you attack and if we're the better side we'll win.

Lots of injuries again too but I'm glad to see Kane getting another chance, at least :)

One thing really worries me though. Is Sherwood freezing Sandro out or is he unfit and only making the bench for a lack of numbers?

Is there a yellow card issue with Sandro?

Possibly but we have West Brom away next so better to play him today and have a chance of him playing against West Brom than leave him on the bench and have him miss a game anyway.

Sandro for at least the remaining away games might be sensible.

    Presumably that's 4-4-2 with a midfield of Lennon,Paulinho,Chadli & Erikson?
Seems very week in the middle,Sunderland could very well control the midfield looking at that lineup?
An odd choice as an outsider looking in

Certainly a wide open team. I'd want to have Johnson on my fantasy team this week, I'll put it that way. No holding player is one thing, noone to track back on the left is another, but neither one nor the other strikes me as too much (or too little).

    I would have preferred

    Lennon Sandro/Capoue Bentaleb/Paulinho Chadli

    Eiriksen

    Adebayor

It's the way I think a 442 can work for us. I do think we're lacking a defensive player in the middle of midfield but the top partnership is right. Kane's played on the left before and can drift off the front line just as Adebayor will so if they manage it right they can give the Sunderland defenders different problems. Sky and the Beeb think Eriksen will be out on the left and if that's the case then Kane can move onto the left flank when Eriksen inevitably cuts inside. No idea whether Chadli can play centre mid though, I would've thought he'd be on the left with Eriksen in the middle.
