Well then read mine "He may be a nice guy, but in a footballing context, he was a nasty piece of work and I'm glad he's gone." ie his management overides any feeling sorry for him because he's nice. There is no heaviness in my heart (probably because I don't have one )
This isn't your thread it belongs to the users of Not606 and to those that want to post on it! Your arrogance knows no bounds!
Try to master basic levels of comprehension please. I'm not saying you can't post. It's just my requirements are that they have to be at least interesting and/or thoughtful. No-one wants pointless and stupid comments like your first above. They just get in the way because I have to scroll past them. The other problem is that you are a certified WUM, so that's why I don't like you. Either post something sensible and interesting or bore off and put your tedious dribblings on your own board.
I have to agree with JWM here Rob. Of course he's trying to stir things up but simple name calling is not going to make him look an idiot.
I feel sorry for him to the extent that his mediocrity was played out in public and that must be a pretty awful experience. Most of us are mediocre after all. I do my job at a mediocre level, as I'm sure nearly everyone on this board does. However, most of us don't have our mediocrity exposed in the full public glare. I know you can argue he was paid enough to accept that as part of the deal, but it still isn't a pretty sight to see someone have their limitations highlighted in front of the world's cameras. I know I've been one of the most vociferous of the Outers, but I sincerely wish him all the best. Whatever else you say, he stabilised us after Lambert dumped us at a time when we could easily have collapsed completely. I'm sure he'll be back in a job soon with a Championship club. And I think he will succeed there. But if he gets them promoted, I fear he'll hit the same ceiling unless he has really learnt from what happened at Carrow Road.
I wasn't trying to make him look like an idiot. He's been made to look like an idiot multiple times and it hasn't stopped him coming (wumming) back. I'm just sick of his pointless posts ruining a thread that I liked and had some interesting posts from people.
I also wish him the best, just as long as it doesn't involve the top tier because the league does not deserve that type of football.
Spot on. Although I actually think he will be a relatively frequent member in the Premier League because he really is good at Championship level and his managerial qualities are evidently successful in at least giving a team a fighting chance in the prem. Unfortunately, the defensive style is too proven for it not to be a feature. Allardyce and Pulis, though worse than Hughton, have shown that type of football is consistently successful at avoiding relegation. It's not pretty, but until that style fails, it's going to be a pretty solid fixture. Hughton will be back in the Prem, probably with a team like Blackburn, and I suspect whoever he gets promoted will stay up under him too.
i would suggest that is a pretty good thing to have on your cv. plenty of managers can't lay claim to that. he'll have little problem getting a new job, that's for sure.
Not sure if that's sarcastic, but yes, fair point, it's hardly beneficial. I just wanted to ensure JWM won't ever be under the mistaken impression that I like him, his posts or his presence...
He has shown that he can be a decent championship manager and if Norwich go down, he would be the sort of manager that could get the club promoted. He did play with the shackles off in the championship and that maybe because he was less fearful that a single mistake would cost the match. So, if he was still with us, relegation arrives, promotion ensues, he develops his craft - he is still learning- and there were times when he got the team to play good football, he was the man to ultimately lead us to the promised land
This situation is strangley similar to that at Wolves when they pressed the panic button by sacking Mick McCarthy a few years back! Lets just hope that this doesn't end with the same scenario!
i agree with the sentiment but the problem is, the fans haven't really taken to him, even when we've had good results or stayed up. there's no chance of him winning them around. whether we had stayed up or gone down under him he'd still have had to leave because too many fans had made their minds up. sad but true. the issue he had here was that he highlighted our weaknesses immediately and made sure he tried to build from the back. that didn't go down too well with many. add to that the lambert hangover and it makes you wonder if any manager would have had a chance of succeeding here during this period? you could argue that the next guy won't have to do as well as hughton has but will still go down as more positive, more successful etc
His chance to win people round was with changing the style of football. He decided not to or was incapable. So he lost his job. His fault, not the fans.
