So was I the only one narked off by Di Montezemolo this weekend? I was really disappointed by his walking out. If anything it's down to him that Ferrari are going backwards with some of their personnel changes over the recent years. It just reeked of poor leadership to me. When the going gets tough... the boss buggers of for a hissy fit.

I'm pretty sure Alonso would have been dragged over the coals for such disrespect for the Scuderia.

I dunno... But Ferrari are in all kinds of hurt. I'm still confident Red Bull can get on top of everybody but the Mercedes, but I just don't see Ferrari having that kind of ability right now. They're at sixes and sevens.

To be honest with you I just started laughing when the camera panned to him leaving the garage after seeing Fernando passed again. Someone's got to make a meme or GIF of that.

Makes you wonder how fast Vergne is as well.

Alonso with a broken car was still up where he shouldn't be. That Ferrari is just ****, there's no other way of saying it, Raikkonen is past it and since his comeback has been underperforming massively and the Ferrari is just getting worse and worse.

That is also a good question since Daniel did seem happier with the EBD the season before when it was more of a factor compared to year he lost to Vergne in 2012. If Seb does decide to leave Vergne might be the next guy up?

I wasn't laughing because that isn't the reaction of a strong leader and if anything says he shouldn't be in charge at Ferrari. You can't just bask in the good times, you have to be there in the those moments that it's all going south too. What message does that send to your team and all those working all the hours that god sends?

I'm not trying to take a pop at Ferrari... Just look at my sig and the car I have Mansell in. I really do have a soft spot for Ferrari.

Are you suggesting 9th place is some kind of achievement for a Ferrari to whcih he should be given credit?

Ferrari have always been like that though haven't they? Monty won't get too much criticism as dare I say it the philosophy they have of throwing the toys out of the pram when the going gets tough is endemic though the team, they have always been like this when things gets difficult with their numerous threats to leave the sport etc. Hell Enzo Ferrari went to the trouble of building an indycar just to show the sport how 'serious' they were about once leaving the sport.

Montezemelo's reaction today was classic stuff from those at the top of Ferrari.

I don't disagree with that at all... But look what they did through the Schumacher, Todt, Brawn, Byrne era.. They were doing it right then (yes I know that's not a popular belief) Now they have just reverted to type. Biggest mistake they ever made was letting Brawn go. Hopefully for Mercedes, they haven't made a similar mistake.

When they're winning it's all good. When they're not it's turmoil. I imagine some of the theatre they put on is to show the Italian fans that they care, as if they just shrugged their shoulders and accepted another poor season again the fans would get even more irate.

    latins eh?

I don't think it's a case of shrugging shoulders... I think a leader needs to be there to rally the troops. Those guys that drive the trucks, do the pit stops, spend sleepless nights in the garage and long hours at the factory don't have the option to just walk away. How is that show going to motivate them to push harder? He should have stuck around and let them know that the whole of Ferrari has faith in them to turn things around and motivated them to make that extra push.

Yeah, I see the point you're making about the boss walking out whilst the boys have to pack up the **** at the end.

I'm not particularly keen on it when drivers waltz off as that's not exactly great for the crew that has put in all the effort on their cars. But from the very top is even worse.
